On a Wick & a Prayer – China Garden Crisp Cotton Scented Candle: Review
I’m really excited to have another review for you today from the fantastic On a Wick & a Prayer. In case you missed my previous review On a Wick & a Prayer are a Derbyshire based candle maker. They have been making candles for over 20 years and with each piece made by hand, by one of their dedicated candle makers, they really do offer a special candle.
On a Wick & a Prayer have already realised a few new fragrances for 2014; 3 of which can be found within their China Garden range which are: Goji Berry, Crisp Cotton, Ripe Fig. in total the China Garden range includes 6 fragrances, with each one available in both a candle and reed diffuser.
I decided to try out:
China Garden Crisp Cotton Scented Candle
The beautiful China Garden range are all presented in a pastel coloured container which features the classic plum blossom branch design, which is much loved by designers such as Wedgewood and Minton.
The Crisp Cotton candle comes in a stone grey container, I’m going to be honest – I love the scent of Crisp Cotton, it reminds me of a freshly made bed (if I could change my bed daily I so would), I couldn’t pick out any singular fragrance used to make the overall aroma of the candle, but it definitely gives off the idea of a clean and fresh, the scent itself is quiet deep if you smell it before the candle is lit – but once burning it becomes a lot lighter as it dissipates around the room.
The China Garden range of candles gives up to 40 hours of burn time and I would definitely recommend this candle for someone who likes light crisp clean fragrances (don’t let the non-lit scent deceive you). I have days when I don’t want an over powerful fragranced candle which keeps hitting me each time I breath in and this one is just perfect for those days.

Scents like ‘crisp cotton’ are my favourites. I currently have a reed diffuser in a ‘fresh linen’ scent and it smells so clean and lovely 🙂
This is definitely a candle I’d like to burn! I love burning candles, there’s nothing more lovely than a nicely fragranced and nice looking candle. I love the blossom design on the holder.
I love candles, especially scented ones and like to have lots of different ones depending what mood I am in. Crisp cotton would be a great one for getting rid of the doggy smell 🙂
