Old Wives Tale SOS Organic Anti-Hair Loss Oil Treatment: Review
When I was younger I used to have really thick, “bushy” hair, sadly over the last few years it has started to fall out (as well as going grey) and it is much thinner than it once was, while I guess on the plus side it has got rid of the worrying about it looking like I have a bush on my head, I do worry one day there won’t be much left at all so I was jumping of joy when Old Wives Tales offered me the chance to try their SOS Organic Anti-Hair Loss Oil Treatment.
This 100% organic oil contains ingredients that can help soothe and heal scalp infections and moisturise, while helping stimulate circulation. This can lead to the growth of healthier hair. Containing ingredients such as peppermint, lavender, almond oil and avocado oil it is free from sulfates, parabens, is gluten free, not tested on animals and suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.
Old Wives Tale suggest to use you should massage into the scalp, paying extra attention to dry patches before smoothing over the rest of your hair and leaving on for a least one hour, preferably with your hair wrapped in a warm towel, before washing and styling your hair as normal.
Personally as I do with most oils, I used the SOS Organic Anti-Hair Loss Oil Treatment before bed, then popped a shower cap on my head and a towel around my pillow and slept soundly as it worked its magic.
The first thing I noticed about this oil was the scent, I am quite a fan of all things minty and once in bed I found that when I rolled over I got a wonderful waft of it (which also helped my rather stuffy nose).
The oil itself is easy to apply, I found placing a little into my palm and then from there rubbing it into my hair and scalp with my fingertips worked fine. Don’t be too worried about feeling as though you haven’t got every area, you will find over the time it is left to work it will soak into any missed areas.
Come morning I found the oil had saturated my hair and scalp, it is perhaps one of the easier oils I used when it comes to rinsing it out and even after shampoo and conditioner the scent of peppermint was still evident. I admit I was a little worried as my hair dried, that it was making it rather frizzy, but it calmed down within an hour or two and actually was left feeling soft, smooth and very pampered, leaving me to believe it was static, rather than frizz attacking it in the first place.
While the short term effects were obvious quickly, with the shine and softness of my hair after its use, I am looking forward to seeing if this does help strength and restore my hair a little in the longer term and at just £13.99 per bottle I am more than happy to buy this product on a regular basis.

No way! maybe the rubbing action helped nature.
I love natural products and oils for my wild hair. That’s a tradition from my homeland, the Dominican Republic!
As I get older I notice that I’m having more and more breakage. If this works I would be so happy!
This came right on time. I hate to admit it but recently my hair has been falling out and this might be just what I need.
I like the reassurance that it will work itself into any spaces you may have missed. That knowledge would keep me from overindulging trying to get to every spot. I’d try this product.
I’d love to know how it worked after about a month or so. It’s interesting!
Hm, would love to try this. I wonder how it would be on my hair.
This sounds like something I might try. My hair has gotten so thin as I’ve gotten older
I have 75% white hair now, and it has thinned considerably. The worst part is that I’m only 34! I will have to check this stuff out !
I certainly hope you do a follow up post to this. I have thick hair but our family of 6 has many different hair types and I would love to recommend it if it does a great job. I love a minty scent to hair products too!
I don’t need hair thickener. But I like the concept and know a lot of people who can use it. Also holy smokes what a hysterical name!!
this sounds like a life saver for thinning hair
same for taming it too
Love that it is organic
The older you get the thinner your hair gets, it’s sad.
I need to get some of this! My hair could use some help lately!
I need anything to tame my wild hair! Thanks for this review.
Please report back after using it for a while. Hubby could use a hair thickener ;0)
I could definitely use some of this right about now… Pregnancy is making my hair brittle and falling out.
This sounds like a great product and I love the name Old Wives Tail!
My hair is super thick! I would love to try this and I love the name of the product!
My wife complains of her frizzy hair in the winter when it gets dry. This might work well for her!
I have thick hair too (and unfortunately, more visits from the Gray Hair Fairy recently) so this is definitely something that I would be interested in using.
I have the thickest hair ever and I can’t understand it because I shed like crazy. I think it’s because my hair is curly.
My hair wasn’t thick at all when I was a kid. But since I’ve had kids of my own, my hair has gotten thicker. I guess it has something to do with hormones. However, I have noticed several grey hairs popping up….
I experienced a lot of hair loss post pregnancy, but it stopped a few months after my baby was born. I thankfully haven’t had any real issues since then! (Now…if I could find something that would keep it from going gray, since I’m not a fan of paying to have my hair colored. That I’d buy asap!)
