Nyla Rose: vintage style chic
I’ve long seen this style of dress pop up across the internet and wondered what it is like, the vintage style and colours are always so pretty – but would the quality stand up to the vision I assumed from the images.
So when Nyla Rose offered me a chance to review one of their dresses – I knew it was the perfect opportunity to answer those questions, both for myself and hopefully for others who have wondered similar questions.
This dress in particular is by Lindy Bop and is the Sky Blue Ophelia which is available from Nyla Rose in sizes 8 – 26, it can be worn just as it comes or you could add a petticoat to make for a more voluptuous skirt.
With the majority of the dress made a thick cotton blend material I was amazed by the quality and feel of it, as well as the fact, the material is actually quite stretchy – so need to worry about eating a little too much at any summer picnic or Christmas dinner party you may be attending in it.
As for comfort this dress has to be at the top of my list, as it moves and stretches with you. The look of it means that it could be worn to a variety of occasions – I can imagine it being a wonderful dress to wear to a wedding as well as an evening out with your friends.
The unique look of is bound to grab people’s attention – so be ready for people to ask just where you brought it when you step out.
One thing that might surprise you about this dress (it certainly did me) is it has pockets, not just small; you aren’t going to fit anything in them pockets – but useful sized pockets, meaning you could even fit your phone and some money into them and not have to worry about a handbag.
For anyone wondering if this dress is a good buy – I can only say yes! The quality, material and unique look it offers are all fantastic and I really believe it is something that can be worn again and again.

This is the only style of dress they do I simply don’t like. It’s the blue ruched bit, I just don’t like it at all. I love everything else about it though and all their other dresses.

I’ve seen a lot of these style dresses, but am just unsure about the bust area on them, particulary as I am top heavy.

I love this dress! I actually remember this floral pattern from “way” back and I loved it then too. It’s timeless and I love that there are so many sizes to choose from. I hate seeing something I like then finding out that it only goes to a size 14 or something. Great find!
