Comme des Garcons Play Trainers

Last week I spoke about my love for Converse this week I want to show you what happens when Cons and Comme des Garcons mix and make the perfect pair of trainers for the Comme des Garcons Play Collection.

This unisex pair of beauties takes a pair of pro leather black converse trainers and gives it the Comme des Garcons spin by adding in their completely unique and quirky logo all over it.

Of course they do offer a more toned down version which see high tops and low top pumps having just one heart to the side, while the mid and low trainers come in both black and white as well as mid trainer variation which sees the hearts turn black or white for that on trend monochrome affect.

Personally though I fell head over heels for this pair – yes they are loud, yes they are different but I just happen to think they are just right for me.

One thing that piqued my interest with these trainers as well as the design is the fact they decided to go with converse for the base of the trainer. I've often lusted over brands shows – but shelling out close to £100 on what could be a bad fitting shoe, or one that is perhaps relying on name rather than quality to pull them through is worrying.

But as these are made using a brand that prides themselves on the quality of their trainers and pumps, I knew I wouldn't have to worry about such issues, leaving me free to pick and choose as my wallet allows.

These trainers offer all you would expect from such a pair and more thanks to the wonderful input of Comme des Garcons Play and if the trainers alone aren't enough for you then do check out all the clothing that is available in the range as well.

Comme des Garcons Play Leather Low Trainers in Black are available now for £95.

What do you think of these trainers, could you see yourself wearing them?

*I was loaned a pair of trainers for the purpose of this review.

Having escaped the plague that should have killed her, Marie-Angélique walked thousands of kilometers through the forests of the kingdom of France before being captured in 1731 in the province of Champagne in a state of savagery. During these ten years she did not live with wolves, but survived them by resisting their attacks with a wooden club and another weapon [a long stick with a sharp metal tip] that she either found or stole. When she was captured, this black-skinned, hairy and clawed huntress was showing some characteristics of regression (she knelt down to drink water and had regular sideways eye movements, similar to nystagmus, the result of a life lived in a state of permanent alertness). However, this girl overcame an extreme challenge harder than the cold, wolves, or hunger: she recovered the faculty of human speech after ten years of mutism.[20]

Despite the fact that the archives prove that she was 19 years old when she was captured, a printed text [Hecquet’s Histoire d’une jeune fille sauvage] claimed that she was ten. This serious mistake, widely reprinted, blocked for three centuries historians’ efforts to discover her origin because it was necessary to look for the records of her birth and arrival in France in older archives. Her intellectual rebirth was important: she learned to read and write, became a nun for a time in a royal abbey, became destitute, was rescued financially by the Queen of France (spouse of Louis XV), refused the love of an educated man, maintained her dignity in the face of her long battle with asthma, and died quite rich, as the inventory of her goods shows.[21]
The Scottish philosopher Monboddo, who interviewed Marie-Angélique in 1765, considered her to be the most extraordinary person of his time. However, this woman was forgotten; she disappears, for more than two centuries, behind all the heroines of fiction.
