November 2nd – Life After a Lockdown #83
It’s been a couple of weeks since I joined in with Life After a Lockdown. We went to Ash’s parents for the first time since Covid started and it honestly utterly exhausted me. I thought my fatigue and pain was bad before I ended up in the hospital, it is honestly now a lot worse.
I am honestly not sure what the big news of the past few weeks has been.
Although apparent, “vax” was chosen as the word of the year by the Oxford English Dictionary and are any of us really surprised?
Oh, and of course how can we not mention Facebook’s new parent company name of “Meta”. Which basically just makes me think of The Arrow and Flash.
Anyway..
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1. How are you feeling/coping?
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 83 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I’m still pretty exhausted, I’ve been slowly trying to get the bungalow a bit more organised as the cleaners are coming for the first time since pre-covid. However, it still looks like a bomb hit it.
Definitely not sure how we are going to explain that one. I can say we seem to accumulate clutter at a rate I dare not think of at times. Especially when I’m not feeling so well, so I just can’t find homes for things. Just plonk them down and hope for the best.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
We got back from Basingstoke last Tuesday I think it was and I spend most of the rest of the week just trying to get down the washing pile.
I’ve also been trying to take photos for my gift guides which should start going out soon. Really excited to share some amazing things with you all.
It was definitely strange to go out to a few different places, while away. We did of course wear masks, use sanitiser etc. However, being around more people did cause more anxiety.
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
It never quite feels like the right time. You are always wondering what if? Sometimes you have to take that step and do something which feels uncomfortable.
4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?
Do what feels safe for you. If you get overwhelmed by a situation then feel free to walk away, that’s OK.
5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I’m going back to TikTok again for this week. I absolutely love @craftycharlottecrochet, I think I’ve mentioned her before? However, she makes incredible stop motion videos uploading at least once a day.
She did a wonderful Halloween storyline, which started I think in September and of course concluded on Halloween. It is well worth going back and watching them, each video is less than a minute I think so doesn’t take too long.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Getting to see Ash’s parents was really nice (and just about fits in). It has been a long time so to get to see somewhere different and spend time with others was a big morale boost I think.
7) What has made you smile this week?
Catching up with people, doing something a bit different and just being able to relax and unwind after.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

We are getting there at last, Very few people are wearing masks now and we are beginning to feel comfortable without one especially as we start to live with covid it is nice to see the hospital admissions falling.
Now we have been out of lockdown I have to trying to be doing things normally. However I will wear a face mask when asked or in crowded places and do a lateral flow when seeing my newly born nephew.
That’s a good idea – I always wear a mask still, hate doing it but it’s just courtesy to other people I think.
I know how you feel about fatigue, the past few weeks I have been so exhausted, it’s been hard to keep my eyes open at times. I don’t think it helps that the days are now shorter
It’s horrid isn’t it – I hate the clocks changing – I wish we could just leave them be these days.
even though we out lockdown now a few months i still cautious i am trying to keep things as normal as can for my son who suffers social anxiety but i worry about him catching it
Oh bless him, I can imagine – I still worry as well – it is a scary idea we might still catch it.
