NoTS from Q-Depot
I’m going to start off with this by saying a couple of things, don’t expect this to be an in-depth review. I actually wasn’t going to blog it at all, because after all, skincare is such a subjective thing, what works on one person won’t on the next, but the company wanted a post – so here is a post. It is probably also worth recapping my skin type, for those who are new to the blog. I have a complete combination skin type, while most of my facial skin is oily, I also have a patch of eczema which will react to anything very quickly it doesn’t like. I also suffer from outbreaks a lot, my skin is yet to get the memo that I’m 30 and I’ve been getting spots for the last 20ish years enough is enough!
This particular giftset isn’t available anymore; Q-Depot claimed in emails it was worth over $100 (the serum, eye cream + a $10 bag) this was then changed to what you see in above picture. At my working out the value of the package I received, which is without the $10 bag but has two additional products comes in at around $75 of product, so I am unsure where the original value comes from.
The products I were sent were:
NoTS 28 Remedy Acne Pore Deep Cleanser RRP $38.40 for 120ml
This is a foaming cleanser, which is pretty much scent free. The foam builds quickly and is quite rich, while the formula itself contains salicylic acid and is said to be KFGA certified (though I’m not sure what it is certified for?) It has a PH of 7 and I have to say all it did for my skin was dry it out and feel like it stripped it.
NoTS 28 Remedy Balancing Toner RRP $67.20 for 100ml
This particular product feels a little like thick water and while it does have an immediate cooling sensation, it contains alcohol and I can’t even use a mouthwash with alcohol in as even that dries my skin out. If the alcohol wasn’t enough to send you running away from this toner it also includes Triclosan, so it is little surprise that is dried my skin out to a painful level very quickly.
NoTS 28 Remedy Intensive Serum RRP $75.60 for 35ml
This offers a light gel texture and again when you put it on leaves your skin feeling quite cooled and refreshed. However, yet again you’re looking at a product containing alcohol. Alcohol and Triclosan + more alcohol = unhappy Sarah skin.
NoTS 28 Remedy Repair Cream RRP $102.00 for 30g
This is a rich cream which has a strong herbal fragrance which lingers and to be honest isn’t that pleasant at least to my nose, on my skin. I found the cream left my skin feeling incredibly tacky; on the plus side it does contain UV protection.
Over all for something that costs so much and is meant to be high end I am disappointed, the ingredients are full of things that irritate your skin and while the company said they had never heard of anyone who has, had issues with this brand before, my research shows, it seems others have had similar issues.
I guess all in all this is the reason why samples are great, they allow you to try a product, without having to commit to the full price tag. If you want to know more about NoTS or to check out all the products Q-Depot have, you can check out their website.
What do you think of the sound of NoTS, would you risk trying it?

Based on this, I don’t think I would be trying this line. Thanks for your honesty.
Ooh this doesn’t sound great at all. I don’t like products with a huge alcohol content in them. Years ago I used a toner that nearly burnt my face off so I haven’t touched them since! xxx
It is scary what they can do sometimes isn’t it :/.
Lately, my skin has been acting up so badly. I feel like I am a teenager again. My skin is so dry, so I bet this wouldn’t work well for me either. I hope you find something more successful for you in the future!
Thank you for the honest review! I feel like those are super hard to come by, especially with skin care products. My skin is like yours–I’m 32 and it’s acting like 13! I will stay away from these products–yikes!
I love finding new beauty products that work. It seems that the older I get and the more my skin changes the more I struggle!
I have never heard of this line of skin care before. My skin is not in the best shape right now so I need to look into new products.
I know I Need to start being more proactive about skin health, this post inspired me to try a new product line. Thanks for that!
I hope you find some good ones for your skin *keeping my fingers crossed for you* x
I definitely appreciate your honest review and refuse to believe you are the first person to ever have a reaction to these products. I have extremely sensitive skin, so anything with fragrance or alcohol is an absolute no.
Thank you – I spent some time googling before I posted and found quite a few blog posts mentioning the ingredients and it not having had such a great responce. I’m glad I decided to post after I had finished writing as at least I have warned people about what it is in them now. x
I have a combination skin so I usually struggle to find good skin products so I can relate.
It can be so hard can’t it – I have a few faithful favourites I seem to go back to time and time again. x
I have never been a big user of skin products but I’m learning it is important to start early! I’ll have to try these out.
Sounds like these products did not work for you, I have in the past had skin care items that I have had problems with. It is good to read an honest opinion where something hasn’t worked for you x
I’m glad people appreciate the review – I did hover over it for a while, but at least people can make an informed (to some degree) purchase now. x
It’s great to read such an honest opinion Sarah – it let’s people know that they can trust you. I would be sad if something dried my skin and didn’t do what it said for that price! H x
Thank you – the more I wrote and googled the more I was glad I was writing it, as I became more and more sure it wasn’t just a “one off”. x
Such a shame they didn’t work for you, I can’t really use things with alcohol in as I feel it burns so I don’t think they would be for me either xx
I always think they should come with a bit of a warning as it is too harsh for many peoples skin, yet works for others. x
Shame all the products were a bit…pants…
I see what you mean about the value too!
Haha I like that way to describe them ;). It seems such a lot for what you are getting :/ x
Thanks for the honest review, I have quite dry skin so this wouldn’t work for me if it dried out your skin! x
I’m pretty sure it’s the alcohol that does it, makes it so dry and painful owch! x
I wish I could find a product for my occasional acne! That sucks this didn’t work on your skin…my sister used it and it worked for her, but everyone’s skin is different!
I swear by Sudocrem for at night – I know some people do like a mask but I just slap it on before bed, as mine is so bad I do it daily. But if yours is only occasion then perhaps a couple times of week? x
Sorry these products didn’t work with your skin. The acne wash sounds like it would work well for me, but I know skin care is very different for each person.
It’s definitely worth trying if you think it’s right for you – it can be so different person to person 🙂 x
Great, honest review. I am not really into this kind of thing, but I do love trying out sample sizes and seeing what they are all about.
There’s something great about getting to try out a sample and see what it is like before fully committing. x
Thank you for the review. I have sensitive and can’t use products with alcohol in them.
I think a lot of people can’t, but I can’t see how it is good for your skin anyway. x
I’d give it a try. I’ll try anything if it’s in a sample size.
Haha I am so with you on that, samples are great! x
The descriptions sound good. I’d try these if I could get them in sample sizes.
They do, do a few different kits starting at around $25.
Being in my mid 40’s I know it’s time for me to start taking better care of my skin. I don;t really have any system in place of as yet. When I shop for products, there are so many it’s overwhelming to make a decision and I end up leaving empty handed. I’ll have to consider these.
I often have a hard time shopping for skin care products as well. It’s so important to take care of your skin so I should really get in a better routine.
It can be so overwhelming trying to work everything out can’t it and then there is forever new things coming out that are meant to be the new must haves. x
I have combination skin and it is dictated by the seasons. It’s extra dry in the colder months so I wouldn’t dare use it then.
It is a little more oily during the warm months and I try to dry it out a little bit to achieve balance.
Oh gosh yeah winter can be so harsh on your skin – it always takes a lot out of mine. x
That sounds like an amazing line of products. I would love to try these out for myself.
Thank you for your honest opinion. I don’t use toner because I don’t like they way it dries out my skin. I’ll have to search for a brand that is alcohol free. Thanks!
There are some good ones out there that help to hydrate the skin as well – I used Simple for many many years. x
