If you love psychological thrillers packed with suspicion, unreliable memories and small-town secrets, then Murder in Mind by J.D Pearson sounds like one to add to your reading list.
Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden and Lisa Jewell, this intriguing debut explores the blurry line between guilt and innocence while keeping readers questioning what really happened.
About Murder in Mind
The story follows Gina Wilkinson, whose life is turned upside down after her neighbour Annie falls to her death from a bedroom window shortly after the pair have an argument. With suspicion quickly falling on Gina, the police begin to believe she may be responsible.
The problem? Gina can’t remember a thing.
As gossip spreads through the neighbourhood and more violent deaths begin to occur, Gina finds herself trapped at the centre of a growing nightmare. Even those closest to her start turning against her, leaving her desperate to uncover the truth before things spiral even further out of control.
With memory gaps, tension and mystery woven throughout, Murder in Mind promises the kind of psychological suspense that keeps readers second-guessing everyone involved.
About J.D Pearson
Murder in Mind is the first novel from J.D Pearson, also known as John Pearson, who lives in Kent and works as a cleaner at Brands Hatch, combining his work with his passion for Formula 1 racing.
After leaving school without qualifications and spending many years working in a factory, John discovered a love of books as an adult and quickly became a huge fan of crime fiction. Although he never expected to write a novel himself, the idea for Murder in Mind stayed with him for years until he finally brought the story to life.
The book has been eight years in the making, and John is already working on his second novel.

This sounds like a brilliant thriller! I love the premise of a character who can’t remember anything — perfect for building tension and suspense. Can’t wait to read it!
Looks like a great read! I love a good thriller with an amnesia twist.
There are a few different genres I like but modern gothic is probably my favourite because it’s usually a good mixture of historical and creepy.
Horribly good
