Life in a Lockdown #18
Gosh, here we are at week 18.
More of the places we had been ordering food from are going back to normal, although a few have said they want to keep delivery long term which is AMAZING.
As someone who spends most of their time at home (and is banned from the kitchen as I forget things are hot), it has been amazing to have good meals delivered. Giving Ash a break from the kitchen and having more choice than pizza.
Sadly a number of places are back in lockdown here in England, with the lockdown happening with 3 hours notice before Eid. This makes me really sad, as it meant so many people couldn’t celebrate and see their family as planned.
As always I have to kick off this post with saying thank you to Bex at Futures for coming on this journey of lockdown remembrance each week and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part I promise it is simple:
We do ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, with how you find the link-up! You will be able to copy all the questions from below to answer in your own world.
Then all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and pop your link in the inlinkz so we can come and read your post.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
4) What advice do you have for others?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) How has your routine been this week?
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?
8) Anything else?

So what did week 18 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
My last infection came back, apparently, the short course of antibiotics wasn’t quite enough. So I have my fingers crossed this time they will work.
I am feeling absolutely exhausted from it all. I actually got up took my antibiotics and went back to bed on Sunday not getting up till 4.
I’m finding my DBT hard going, two hours on a video call on a Monday morning plays straight into my fatigue. However, I am still hoping it will help. I just have to keep at it.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
For the third week running it is still all about TikTok and Once Upon a Time.
There was a lot of Facebook markets over the weekend as well which were fun to look at. Ash got a lot of cookies and I got myself a few bits, like a candle and sleep stones.
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
I’m still struggling with masks, they make me overheat and hello anxiety, but I’ve also found they make me feel safer. So I am hopeful I will get more used to them.
We are still not going out unless it is essential and I think that will pretty much be how this year will go for us.
4) What advice do you have for others?
I can only say what I have been saying for weeks now do what you think is right. No one else knows your health / your story better than you.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
I feel like face coverings could become the unlikely trend of this year.
This isn’t a bought by me as it was sent to me for an Instagram review, but I thought I would include it here, as face coverings are becoming more important.
Made by Waring Brooke this Personalised Monogram Face Mask comes in at £12.50 and will take up to two initials, while also being available in a choice of colours.

They have been made using two layers of knit cotton and are actually really comfortable. The way they are made is really different from other masks I have tried as the parts are folded over each other. However, it sits comfortably over your nose and chin and of course, keeps you from touching your nose or mouth while out.
I’ve not had anything arrive I’ve bought – but hopefully, I’ll have some new fun buys from small businesses for you.
6) How has your routine been this week?
It’s been OK I’ve had to keep to one due to taking meds at certain times. Though that has also meant I’ve had a sleep after. Which isn’t the best.
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over this week?
Nope, I feel like with mine and Ash’s health issues being able to be “normal” again is so very far off.
8) Anything else.

Sorry to hear you have been poorly. We have to wear face masks at work and a 9 hour shift doing physical work in them is really uncomfortable, especially as a woman who is starting menopause #eek
Oh gosh I bet that is a too much to cope with at times – they make me so hot as it is!
The weather has been very strange hasn’t it – apparently, we are due storms next year.
I’ve been finding out about some local small businesses closing for good and it is very sad.
Sorry you’ve been unwell. I really hope the antibiotics help, and you feel better soon. I am not liking wearing masks either, but they do seem to help. Sending you big hugs and love. xx
Thank you ❤ I am hoping this course as worked and all will be OK now.
I hope you get rid of your infection quickly ! This lockdown has gone on so long and I’ve been locked down again living in Yorkshire. It really plays on our mental health issues . I just found out that my daughter has melanoma in her arm -another blow ! Just hoping they can get rid of it quickly x
Oh my goodness I hope your daughter is OK and they can sort it out for her.
A nice read!! I am the same as you in that I absolutely hate wearing masks to the shops and stuff, it is so uncomfortable!
It’s so horrid isn’t it – gets so hot and urgh – I do feel safer in some ways though as well.
wow… week 18? It’s pretty crazy, right! Sorry about your infection, I hope the antibiotic helps!
Thank you so much – it has been a long old time hasn’t it.
