Keep Your Dogs Teeth Healthier with Dentastix
It is easy for people to say if you start getting your dog used to having their teeth brushed at an early age, it should be easy. However, many of us don’t get our dogs till later in life and then there are some dogs who don’t like you near their mouths and that’s without the fact you have to think of it in the first place. So it often isn’t until your dog’s getting older and their teeth start causing them issues or they get a bit of bad breath, that you really start thinking about the should haves and what ifs of keeping their teeth clean.
Sally doesn’t like you going to near her mouth for long, you can quickly give her a once over or check, but a prolonged action like brushing, you have no chance. So we have had to come up with other ways to try and help her keep them just a little bit cleaner.
Over the years we have tried things like doggy toothpastes, some of which say if you can get your pet to lick the paste off your hand or their paw it will help a little at least. We have also had her teeth cleaned by the vet on a couple of occasions when she has needed a few other small bits done and they of course preform regular check-ups on her as well. She is also on a mostly dry food diet as this is much better for her teeth than wet food. Lastly and perhaps the most easy out of all the options we have implemented into her routine is using treats and toys which are specifically designed to help dislodge build-up. One such treat from the Pedigree dental care range is Dentastix.
Dentastix are specifically designed to help reduce tarter build-up, it uses a mix of a unique X shape, gently abrasive texture and a mix of active ingredients to do this and in scientific studies it has been proven to reduce build-up by up to 80% with daily use.
I have to be honest and say we have tried all manner of treats that claim to help keep a dogs teeth clean, but we always end up going back to Dentastix. As to be honest Sally likes them best and with having a 15 year old dog who still has all her own teeth, there has to be something we are doing right, when it comes to trying to keep them clean as best we can, so why fix something that obviously isn’t broken.
It is also good to know that Dentastix are low in fat and sugar free so you aren’t subjecting your pet to something that while good for them in one way, is bad in another.
Sally and I would definitely recommend Dentastix to both owners and dogs out there who are looking to keep their poochies teeth in better condition and don’t want to or can’t deal with brushing their dogs teeth.

Dentastix looks like a must-have for dog owners. I’ll have to make sure my neighbors know about this so they can grab some for their new puppy.
Weirdly I was talking about these today. I really really struggle to get food for my dog, as he is pretty much alergic to everything. I will investigate further though.

I’ve tried to brush my dog’s teeth and it ends up in a wrestling match LOL. I’ll have to try these Dentastix. We’ve used chews in the past and I think they’ve helped.

Pets are definitely like family to us. Pet hygiene isn’t always the easiest to handle. I am glad you find a solution for your dogs teeth.

My 3 dogs love dentastix! I get them often and they really enjoy them… sometimes even fight over them so I don’t get them as much as i’d like!

My dogs like Dentastix and I like how it helps freshen their breath. I wish we had brushed their teeth when they were younger because it would be easier now.
I think it’s one of those things you don’t think about when they are young with a spring in their step.

My mum’s dog absolutely loves these, she tried him on another brand and they just didn’t seem to work as they were too soft so just ended up being like a treat instead. These she feels like really work for him xx

They have mini denta bite things in Tescos, I found them when I was ironically buying Dentastix for my mum and came across them! My cats love them and they seem to be working well x

I have been using Dentastix for my dog a long time. I love the fact that it helps his teeth bu most importantly it helps keep his breath from smelling bad.

I love the way these are treats but they also clean their teeth. I always have a hard time getting my dogs teeth cleaned, this is a great way to at least maintain them.

Yeah I think they have to be done from a very young age if you are to be successful brushing their teeth, it’s such a difficult thing to do. x
I love things like this for dogs, I remember my dog growing up loving them. I was just glad it took good care of their teeth, as brushing them is so hard!
