June 1 – Life in a Lockdown #61
So here we are in June! I can’t believe how quickly this year seems to be going by.
The weather has definitely taken a turn for the better and it has been nice to get the washing out on the line and all dry.
Rates are slowly going up again over here in England, but I guess that is to be expected with lockdown easing. We can only hope it stays at a manageable level.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 61 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
Honestly, the past week seems to have passed in a bit of a blur. I struggled to get things together a bit and was very fatigued.
I’m starting to feel a little better, so I’m hoping the flare-up of symptoms I had last week was the sting in the tail. Which means hopefully I can start to heal a bit now.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
I had a few phone call appointments. One with the doctor, who has organised more blood tests and the other with a community mental health nurse, where I will be going back over things from the SLS course I did last year.
This week is going to busy with in-person appointments, but hopefully, it will all help towards getting answers.
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
She’s so well known already but honestly I’ve been watching a lot of Bailey Sarian over on YouTube, I mean who doesn’t love a bit of true crime.
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
Ash’s parents are passing by this week so we are looking to grab some fish and chips and enjoy them in the garden.
Yes, we are personally still being cautious. Both of us could end up with issues if we get COVID, so we haven’t really changed what we are doing. We haven’t been shopping or out for a meal, or socialised much yet.
I think for me as well, I need to ease myself in with my anxiety.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
I’m awful at buying things I see on TikTok. Now I’ll be honest, I pick at my skin a lot so when I saw these picking stones I thought it was worth a try.
The idea is you cover the lava stone in latex and pick at it with the tool.

I’ve actually found it really helpful. As it gives me something to pick at when the urge hits. It’s really simple to recoat as well when needed and they should be doing refill bottles too soon.
This particular kit comes from PickandPopShop (affiliate link) on Etsy.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Friends – I’ve had some amazing friends checking in with me over the past 7 days. I can’t thank them enough.
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
Not everyone has to feel like they need to rush out as soon as allowed. Taking things at your own pace is fine.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

How has life been treating you?

I like to go hiking or doing coastal path walk. It’s a positive experience for me, my mental and physical health, helps me escape the work routine, takes my mind of other domestic issues. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and travelling to see beautiful scenery and exploring the wonderful British countryside.
There is nothing quite like a walk in the countryside is there? I used to love going with Sal off on long walks when I was able.
Glad you are starting to feel a lot better and hope you at least are enjoying the nice weather ‘ish’. I am bad at buying things I see online so TikTok is banned on my phone lol.
I think I need to do the same with TikTok it is deadly for me.
Glad your feeling a little better . Fingers crossed we should be out of the other side soon
Thank you! I’m hoping the same I would like a bit of normality for sure.
I’m glad to hear you’ve been feeling a little better. Those picking stones sound really interesting, I’ve never heard of anything like that but they sound great x
Thank you. Honestly its really good – I need to get better at reapplying the latex as it only needs a thin layer though.
Never heard of these picking stones before, definitely gonna be helpful for so many people!
They are great – I’ve just topped mine up so awaiting it drying.
gentle baby steps and you will soon bounce back, big hugs!
Thank you so much – here’s hoping! <3
