Give a special gift for Christmas 2023
As we are all getting ready to stack our presents under the Christmas tree, its worth taking a moment to remember those who can’t this year, those who for one reason or another are spending not only Christmas but many other days without the comforts that many of us take for granted.
These people can be your next door neighbour, suffering in silence to feed themselves each day, or they could be someone half way across the world.
That is where Gift and Befriend comes in. This new start-up company takes on people and allows you to gift goods straight to them via Amazon.
At the moment all the people listed are living in third world countries and have been suggested by charities, with each one having their own page.
By looking at each person’s profile you get to learn a little them, what they have been through in life, the troubles they are facing and some of them even have a YouTube video attached, allowing you to see a small insight into their life and where they live (I have to warn you though some of them are very moving, so have the tissues near).
While at the moment the site only lists children from the third world, it will in future expand to list people from all over the world. In fact, as well as sending to a person, you can suggest someone who many need the help of others, to give them the boost they need to get back on their feet.
To give you a bit more of an idea about the website I want you to meet John Mbogo. He stood out to me as he says he sees no future and I’ve been there.
Yes for a completely different reason, as mine was due to my mental health but I know that feeling and it is one I would never wish on anyone, especially not a young child. A young child, who should have their future ahead of them, should be allowed to learn, to know they have a safe place to stay, are loved and have food waiting for them on the table.
I should warn you it is a hard website to visit, to see the strife some of these people are going through, but it is also wonderful, allowing a way to see the person you are helping, to know that what you give will really make a difference.
I shall definitely be following the progress of this website myself and I look forward to it listing people from around the globe and will definitely be sending a gift or two when I can.

Sponsoring a child in need is the greatest gift you can give. Not just to them but to yourself too. The feeling of giving is so wonderful!

I’m with Robin. It always saddens me to see kids that don’t even have basic necessities. We adopt a few children to buy for for the holidays and it breaks my heart when I see that they want coats and bedding. These are things that every child should already have access to.

this is a brilliant idea having lived and worked voluntary overseas its so important to support such projects to help even if its a little it means such a lot
