Get into Social Trading with eToro
Have you ever looked into trading stocks and shares and then quickly turned away? After all it can seem like a whole different world.
A world which is shrouded in secrecy, making it near impossible to understand how people are getting the pennies rolling in. Then perhaps eToro could make for your first step into the world of trading.
So what makes eToro different?
eToro is a social trading network, that not only lets you follow and communicate with other users, but also copy what other users are up to.
However, you don’t have to copy users, you can make your own CFD (contract for difference) trades on a huge amount of stocks, inices, commodities, currencies and ETFs (and if that makes sense to you I salute you).
I completely admit I would have no idea where to start when it came to making my own CFD, however, I do find the fact that I can follow and copy users such as Jay Smith (Jaynemesis), really interesting. Jay is considered one of the eToro’s most popular investors to be copied and with 85.35% profit over the last year, you can see why.
Just 28 years old, Jay is a professional gamer, who has travelled the world representing his teams and has an interest in technology, politics, economics, and gaming.
Jay grew up playing strategy games, which perhaps have helped him be successful in the trading world, after all it meant he needed quick reactions, time to study his opponents, learn their play style and plan strategies.
His background however has even more impact on his trading style, than just the techniques he learned in gaming. Jay chooses to mainly trade in cryptocurrencies, after all he came across Bitcoins when they were worth just $12 each (they are now worth over $1000 per coin) and he has also started using Etherium another cryptocurrency which is gaining a lot of traction after the SEC rejected Bitcoin’s attempt to become an ETF.
For longer term trades Jay looks into the tech market, which is a place he feels very comfortable within.
Why choose eToro over other platforms?
As well as being very community driven, which allows you to learn from your peers. The website, according to Jay, also offers a very easy to use interface, which as everyone knows is always a good thing when you are starting out.

I haven’t, but I grew up with my father doing it. Now, I think my son is interested in it. I’ll have to show him this.
Good luck on it! It is indeed a very interesting subject. I think that it is better than just merely depositing money in the bank. I hope someday I can also learn the ins and outs of that kind of money making strategy.
To be honest I never really thought about doing something like this! I need to check it out, glad that it seems so easy to do.
So far I use my bank’s platform for all the trading. But this looks fun and easy and helpful to trade stocks etc. I would love to try this if this is available where I live?
This sound great – like you I wouldn’t have the first clue where to start myself but to be able to mirror someone successful is a great idea! Just hope their luck holds out!
I haven’t the slightest clue about buying and trading stocks, but would love to make a little profit. Being able to copy someone else’s tactic and transactions sounds like a great way to start.
I took a course to learn options but didn’t have the analysis attention for it. To many indicators to watch. I enjoy just dumping money into my index funds and taking a hands off approach to it.
I don’t know anything about trading but looks great for those who do.

Interesting way to connect with other people. I have never heard of the website before but I want to do some more reaserch into it.
I admire people who are into trading. I have friends who are into stocks and I find it really hard to do. I think I need to spare some time to learn about it. Makes me think if I will enjoy it to just like them.

I’ve never heard of etoro! It sounds like an awesome idea though. Getting into stocks is fun, but nerve wracking for sure. The pay off is great though!

I haven’t heard of this social trading network. My husband is piddling with something like this but I don’t get involved much.

I’ve never tried trading before. I’m not really good at understanding all that kind of stuff honestly. My husband is better with it.

I am not the best when it comes to understanding stocks and finances. I love the concept, being able to copy for beginners sounds like it would make it easier to use.

eToro may actually make me reconsider things. I also love that it’s community driven and that you can also copy other users until you get the hang of it!
I have to admit I have looked a few times as the other half did have shares and I thought about trying a few bits with them but in the end we just cashed them out as the whole thing looked so frightening.
My husband is a financial advisor, so he takes care of our stocks. But this was really interesting as I’ve never heard of it before.

eToro offers protective measures to manage risk effectively, but it is possible to lose more money than invested in each trade. However you can never lose more than your total balance.

Trading always makes me nervous. I feel like I should have majored in accounting in order to be successful in it.
