February 15th 2022 – Life After a Lockdown #99
So most of last weeks news seems to have revolved around Russia and will they invade Ukraine. It is hard to know exactly what to think about it from my perspective. I seem to bounce between it’s all a show to try and get their own way and this really could happen. I truly hope it doesn’t happen as the consequences of Russia actually invading will likely be devastating.
While I’m struggling to get my head around West Ham seemly letting Kurt Zouma get away with kicking his cat, absolutely incredulous.
In Covid news, James Blunt has been played in an attempt to put off protesters in New Zealand. While old BoJo is still hanging on, despite people wondering how and why?!
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1. How are you feeling/coping?but
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 99 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I’m pretty exhausted at the moment, I’ve been having a lot of bad nightmares to the point I’m waking up gasping. It is something I’ve struggled with in the past when it did get to the point I would wake up screaming. I have an idea I know why it could be happening, which I’m putting to the test and going to speak to my mental health worker about.
My Dad is due to go in for his opp this week, which is of course worrying as well. We didn’t realise it would be quite so soon and he went into isolation straight after his last appointment and we will be in hospital for most likely a week after.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
I’ve still been trying to find a car that will fit my wheelchair in the boot without having to put down the back seats. Who know it would be such a task. Sadly a lot of cars seem to be just an inch too small. While one we did find would be too big to get in the drive. (We’ve been waiting 2 years for the drive to be sorted as at the moment, it’s a bit of a bodge job. Hopefully, something might be done this year).
We think we might have found one now and I’m due to test drive it to see what I think.
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
It has its highs and lows, some days you will feel like it never ends, some days it feels like the worst thing that could happen. However, other days will offer a bit of normality and your feel much better about everything going on.
4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?
Look after yourself, try not to worry about what others are thinking and doing. Take care of yourself and your family as you want to.
5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I haven’t had a Roccabox since they did their “glow up” so I was really interested to see the difference when their February box “Perfect Nights Sleep” arrived on my doorstep.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Water, my eyes have been getting dry and it is often a sign I’ve not been drinking enough water. So need to try and get my 2L in me every day.
7) What has made you smile this week?
It’s been one of those weeks where I can’t think about much that has made me smile, to be honest, sorry!
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Seems strange to think this was only 2 months ago, and we had only just come out of a lockdown, life has returned to ‘normal’ so quickly
Quite fun seeing a month old post of your week, especially as it is the first on that I have come too. I will have to find the subsequent posts.
The pandemic has certainly been quite an experience which has affected us all some way or other. Staying at home more often has given me an opportunity to find myself a couple of new hobbies though. So I guess something good did come out of it. xx
Definitely I think it is something none of us will forget having to live through.
Wow! I can’t believe we’re on week 99! 99 weeks ago I would never have thought that lockdown would have lasted as long as it did
It is crazy isn’t it – I do wonder if/when we will ever get back to normal at times.
As covid is currently doing its rounds in both my childrens classes I’m getting more and more convinced one of them will have it soon . I’m grateful to have gone this long without any of us having it . I’m fully vaccinated and boosted but I worry about my children especially my son Charlie as he has been ill in the past and it still hits home that he was seriously ill
Oh no I am so sorry it is doing the rounds close to you, I hope you manage to stay safe from it.
Loving the colourful photo at the top – colour in itself can be happiness and positive. But then you can watch the news and feel down and negative with all that is going on in the world. Trying to think positive and look forward and try and smile
Definitely, I always think bright and colourful is really uplifting. It is such a hard place to understand the world around us right now isn’t it?
It’s been a “down’ sort of week. Cheered by the dark nights starting to recede so I get a walk without a rough.
It has been so strange, hasn’t it? I’ve been struggling with this past week more.
