As a seasoned cruiser, I would say that newbies should consult a good travel agent who specialises in cruises and talk over what they want from the trip, as well as what they can afford as it can all seem a bit overhwleming otherwise.

Another consideration is your cabin type. we always save money with an inside cabin as we never stay in very long. other people prefer to stay in and feel upgrading to window or balcony worthwhile.
This is a good idea – I think I’d like to see outside, but then if you are only in it to sleep does it really matter?
plus you have to be careful of whether the View (generally of the sea) also includes a lifeboat or people strolling past.
Ohh I wouldn’t like people walking past at all, I don’t live the feeling of being overlooked at anytime though.
