Dress to Impress with Cotton Traders

While we haven’t had much of the summer this year, it is definitely that time of year when we start thinking about transitional pieces. So while you might not have got so much wear out of your favourite dress this summer, there are many ways to wear it into autumn.
Crinkle Maxi Dress
The transitional time between summer and autumn can be really fun to play with your style. For instance, you could take a beautiful crinkle maxi dress such as this one and make it into something to see you through the change in seasons.
All you need to do is think about what you pair with it. For instance, a pair of tights and your favourite trainers can help keep your legs warm. A cardigan, or denim jacket over the top or long sleeve t-shirt underneath can make for a warmer top half.
It can also be worth looking at the colour of your piece as well. Rich shades such as khaki, amber, olive and rust can make for wonderful transitional pieces due to their nod to the season in colour.
Accessories
Thinking about the accessories you use with your outfit as well can help pull together the perfect transitional piece.

They have some really different things – I was amazed at all they have on offer to be honest.
I find lots of pieces in Cotton Traders, most recently some black jeggings that go with everything and can be dressed up or down.
They do so really comfortable pieces that are great staples!

I have to admit I’m such a blue person – anything blue and I’ll give it a try haha! Accessories can make an outfit for sure though.
It’s starting to feel distinctly autumnal now. I usually find that layers are my best option, especially a nice cardigan that I can slip on/off as needed. My feet are starting to feel cold, but I’m resisting boots and socks for as long as I can (not least because they are difficult to get on and off).
I am the same I got told off for wearing a t-shirt and a thick layer as it helps you over heat so I have to do smaller thinner layers until I get warm.
@Sarah-Louise Bailey, I find a cardigan is so useful because it is far easier to get on and off than having to struggle with a jumper (especially as I wear specs).
I have to say I love a cardi, easy to get on and off with my temperature fluctions as well.
I love Cotton Traders and have lots of items of clothing from them. I always find the change from Summer to Autumn difficult for clothing options. I do find layers work well, a nice cardi or jacket over a dress, and trainers rather than sandals work well
It is hard isn’t it – you never quite know what each day will bring to you which is so hard to deal with.
Thick tights and boots are always a a winner. I have bought a sleeveless jumper in the sales too
