Deciem Hylamide Booster Pore Flush: Review
I have a lovely run of guest posts coming up and to kick off the schedule I have the wonderful BeautyQueenUK here to talk about one of her favourite products Deciem’s Hylamide Booster Pore Flush so without further ado over to her:
There is no denying that Deciem is an amazing brand and I am sure by now, that every single one of you reading this will have heard of them, even if you have never tried anything from the brand.
A few months ago I detailed some new releases (here) from Deciem and gave some initial thoughts on quite a few of them.
Hylamide, a branch of the Deciem tree is split into three areas.
The Core Series, The Booster Series and The Finisher Series and each section comes together to ensure the products you use work for your skin.
To that end, the product that I have been absolutely obsessed with is the Hylamide Booster Pore Flush.
It is described as being a plant- and marine-based mist formula to help visibly reduce pore size and sebum overactivity.
I am obsessed with my pores and the stuff that gets in them – dirt, grime, excess sebum and so on and a product like this had my name written all over it from the start.
Pore Flush uses what are referred to as bio-derivatives to make this work and they include:
Bridewort Bioderivatives
A biotechnology derivative that acts as a solubilizer of congestion within pores to flush them out. The name of the product is inspired by the pore-flushing activity of this technology.
Buchu Bioderivatives
Helps reduce visible sebum accumulation within pores which can cause pores to appear enlarged.
Natural Marine Polymers
Forms a natural, non-clogging marine-derived film to tighten pores immediately and visibly reduce sebum even further through a different pathway than that offered by other technologies within the formula.
As ever with Deciem, they take the science and the over-complicated names and make them simple an easy to understand.
Pulling these ingredients together, what you get is a product which not only breaks down and dissolves anything and everything that is clogged within your pores, but also gives them a flushing to ensure that every last particle is removed.
It isn’t a miracle worker, it doesn’t and never claims to make pores disappear, but what it does do is help visibly reduce the size of them, which for me is something I want.
So, nestled inside the bright lime green box is a bright lime green coloured bottle and it looks every bit the same as any other facial mist you might have tried with its spritz action top.
I have combination skin with an oily T-zone, so excess sebum is an issue for me and I often suffer from a shiny face (blotting papers forever my friend) mid-afternoon, so my pores need some attention.
To use the Pore Flush, you first need to ensure your face is clean, by that I mean remove anything that sits on the surface of the skin to allow this product to really work its magic.
Then on dry skin, you simply spritz and whilst it isn’t a light mist, the wetness doesn’t soak you right through and it does smell really lovely with a subtle fruity twist.
I then use a cotton pad across my skin to remove any excess if there is any and what I like after using is how clean my skin feels, almost like that clean feeling after a facial and double cleanse.
Has it helped with my pores looking congested?
In short yes it has, what I have noticed, especially across my nose, is that I am less shiny and my pores are not as noticeable.
Also there is definitely less gunk clinging to the ones you can see, the ones which look most unsightly.
The best part is the price and for this particular product, it costs just £13 here.

I know Beauty Queen says we’ve all probably heard of this brand, but I actually haven’t! The products sound fantastic though, they’d definitely be good for my skin type x

Thankfully my pores don’t look so enlarged anymore. I went through a period in high school where it was really bad. Today, in my 30’s my skin is pretty good, but I do have freckles I would love to make go away.

This seems like a great product! I have always been a little self conscious of my pores actually. I never thought to try and make them smaller, I never knew that was an option.

This is a totally new brand of products for skin I am not aware of. Done a wonderful job of explaining how they work on our skin and heal and improve plus protect out skin daily.
I haven’t ever heard of the Deciem line, but the products sound amazing, and who doesn’t need a little pore clean out?! My skin is really sensitive, but it seems like this line would be perfect for that!
I have enlarged pores so these products sound perfect for me! This time of the year is the worst for my skin with the cold weather and central heating.
