December 7th – Life After a Lockdown #88
Here we are the last month of 2021 and COVID-19 is most definitely still a big thing. Omicron cases are up by 50% in just one day here in England. No one seems to know what Omicron is going to be like in terms of how it will affect people, I’ve heard good and bad things, so it feels like a lot of guesswork.
Of course, we are all likely to be spending more time socialising across the coming month, so it will be interesting to see how things go into the New Year. I’m keeping my fingers tightly crossed things will be OK.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1. How are you feeling/coping?but
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 88 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I’m doing OK plodding along, I’m a bit like a rollercoaster though and I don’t really know how I will feel from day today.
My parents are insolated at the moment as my Dad has to have a small procedure at the hospital, which will hopefully go OK.
I’m trying to just take things one day at a time and do what I can.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
Actually not much – we were meant to see a friend and meet their new pup but they were feeling well on the day so to be safe we didn’t go.
I did manage to catch up with some photos for the blog which then knocked me out for a few days after.
So feet up and been entering some advents over the weekend.
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
You would think it would get easier, but in some ways, it gets harder. You originally feel it’s OK this will only last a few months and then back to normal. However, you get to the point where it feels like normal will never happen again.
You miss the life you had when you didn’t worry about just doing something normal like meeting up with friends.
4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?
Please remember your mask, if not for yourself but for others.
5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
This was a bit of a update / repost of a blog around the 8 warning signs of domestic abuse, it is something I think everyone should be aware of.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Having a little bit of energy to try and catch up with things. I’ve had a slump again but hopefully, I can keep going for a bit.
7) What has made you smile this week?
Managing to get some of the Christmas shopping done, it was nice to actually feel like I’m getting on top of things a little when normally I do everything last minute.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

At last we are beginning to see a fall in covid hospital admissions, the only verifiable and accurate measure
I havent had covid yet which is a major surprise as I work in care and have done from the start
Oh gosh, yeah you are in an area that is so exposed. Fingers crossed you stay clear from it all.
I am luckily to not have had covid and I think its because I don’t go out a lot . I have just seen now its going to plan b
I’m the same – *touch wood* I will get by without getting it – don’t think I would cope.
Lots of people are getting anxious there is no end in sight
I read something the other day that says pandemics typically last 3 years, I am hoping that is true and we are coming on to 2/3rds of the way through.
