Beer52 Craft Beer Subscription Box: Review
I love subscription boxes and I think it is great that they have grown so much since the early days of beauty boxes, these days you seem to be able to get everything from socks, to those that treat your pet. One which happens to be new to me however is Beer52.
Beer 52 is a craft beer subscription box and contains either 8 or 10 (depending your subscription) beers each month. As well as being able to choose the amount of beers you receive you can also choose if you would like to have a light, or mixed case. The light case removes the dark beers and replaces them with light varieties such as IPA and Pale Ale.
As well as 8 or 10 beers you will also receive in your monthly box, the latest copy of Ferment Magazine; a magazine dedicated to craft beers and a snack that is perfect for nibbling on when you drink one of your beers. Beer, a magazine and a snack, what’s not to like?!
I think most people who visit my blog know that I don’t actually drink alcohol myself, so this was passed onto my Dad to review, as he is a bit of a fan of cask ales and likes to try out new ones he comes across when away.
The beers we received in our Beer52 collect were mostly (if not all) from Colorado, which really allowed my Dad to try something he wouldn’t just stumble on in his travels around the UK.
Overall my Dad was really impressed with the selection of beers, he did think that perhaps 8 beers per month would be too much for him, as while he does like a good beer, he doesn’t actually drink that often and then it is only one bottle at a time.
If you are looking and thinking, well yes I agree, never fear. Beer52 also sell a selection of the beers by the can or bottle and you can even choose to buy one-off crates for yourself, or as a gift, instead of signing up for a monthly subscription.
It’s my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary this year and they have popped off on a well-deserved holiday, so my Dad hasn’t made it all the way through sampling all of the beers yet. However, of those he has tried, he told me this about the milk stout; as with the well known British and Irish beers of a similar type this was rich, creamy and smooth, I enjoyed it immensely and would be happy to drink it in their stead.
He also added; I have a chequered history with American beer, many are excellent, some lack character as do many ‘ international beers’ in my opinion, and I confess that once, and only once I drank strawberry beer. These were not like that, they all had a very British feel. I liked them a lot.
Overall I was really impressed with the idea, as I don’t drink beers myself I wouldn’t sign up for me, but I am tempted to buy my Dad a couple of boxes for Christmas so he can sample some more.
Beer52 costs £24 for 8 beers or £29 for 10 beers on a 4 weekly cycle, however, discount is given if you sign up for 3, 6 or 12 months together and your subscription can be cancelled at any time.
If you would like to know more about Beer52 or sign up to the service for yourself, do head over to their website.
What do you think of the sound of Beer52 is it a subscription service you could enjoy?

It is crazy isn’t it – there really is something for everything when you look hard enough. x
I’m huge fan of beers, I tried a lot of different beers a few years ago. This Beer52 is now on my list. I’ll try it!
I really hope you like it if / when you give it a try 🙂 x
I really enjoy trying different types of beers but never think to experiment on my own. This subscription box would be a lot of fun to receive and enjoy.
Oh this is really cool. Both of my kids like going to breweries to try out new craft beers. I think this sub would be an awesome gift for either of them.
It is amazing what you can find out there, I think it is great that people are still being little breweries. x
What?! I knew they had all kinds of these boxes but I didn’t know they had this one! It’s my favorite so far!!
If you love beer this is the perfect subscription box and would make a great Christmas present too
Sounds like such a great idea, I know my dad would love this x
It is such a fab idea, I love all the different things you can get in sub boxes now it is so fun! x
I didn’t know there was such a thing as beer sub-box, how cool is that. Its a shame I don’t like beer of any sort, cider on the other hand I would sub for it
Now this would be good for me, I do love trying out Beers and Ales much more than larger!
Go on pop it on your Christmas list 😉 then you never know it might turn up under your tree. x
What a great idea for beer lovers! It is also a fantastic present for those that have everything, cause this will add some spice to their month when they receive it! Thanks, this would be perfect for my little brother!
It is a fab present idea isn’t it – a nice way for them to taste so many different beers. x
This would be cool for someone who likes beer, that’s for sure. My husband doesn’t really drink it.
I would love this for myself. I love tasting craft beers. I love trying different ones to see which has the best flavors.
What a great idea! My other half loves his craft beers and Belgian beers 🙂
There is so many different ones out there as well – so I think it’s a great way to sample some different ones. x
This is such a fun subscription box. I have a friend that loves craft beers. I will definitely share this post with her!
Of all the monthly box plans I’ve come across, this is one I could get on board with! Unfortunately in the US, transporting liquor across state lines is frowned upon…
Oh that is such a shame 🙁 I bet you could have got some amazing things from different states if that wasn’t the case. x
Purley amazing the types of beer there is. My dad would love this box.
It is crazy isn’t it – there is so many different types I can’t get my head around them all lol. x
Would be very interested if they did a cider version!
OH I KNOW who I want to get this for! My brother LOVES to try all sorts of craft beers, this is a perfect christmas gift!
It is such a great gift ideas, I really am thinking about subbing my Dad for a while. x
What fun! Both my husband and I love beer, so this would be a great product for our house, haha!
Glad he liked it. I actually love beer so this sounds like a great sub box for me as well x x
It’s amazing the different flavours they manage to make for beer. x
I think my husband would love this,it would make a fab gift and give beer lovers a chance to try different ones.
That’s a pretty cool idea! While I’m not a beer fan, I know a LOT of people who are. This would make a really great gift, especially since I’m not too familiar with beer.
I totally agree with you, we’ve grown so much more since those early subscription box days of beauty products and I love the variety that there is out there. I think my stepdad would like something like this but like your dad he probably wouldn’t get through that amount monthly x
I think it’s a shame they don’t do a quarterly one or something, I could see him enjoying 4 boxes a year. x
I would love to try the different craft beers. It can really give you a lot of different experiences and taste for beer.
You’re right – there is a subscription box for everything these days. I don’t drink beer, but I’m sure this would be a great monthly subscription box for those that are into craft beer. It would be a great Christmas gift as well.
