August 10th – Life After a Lockdown #71
So another week has passed, there seems to be a lot of industry suffering from the so-called “pingdemic”. We’ve definitely been having post less often, I couldn’t arrange a collection for some prizes to go to their winners from my parents, as the post office is short-staffed. We’ve also heard that several shops are struggling to get staff as well.
It is definitely causing an almost strange sort of limbo.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1. How are you feeling/coping?
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 71 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I’m pretty exhausted, I went to the physio for the first time since pre-pandemic times and it wiped me out.
Since I was in the hospital, I’ve found that my fatigue has definitely been worse. Something which I didn’t think was actually possible.
Hopefully, I’ll pick up again a little over time.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
I think I pretty much covered this in the last question, I went to the physio and then nothing.
We managed to pick up Ash a PS5 in one of the re-stocks that are happening. I had promised him one as a present for his birthday last year, so it has been a long time coming.
Other than that I’ve just pottered around the bungalow really.
3) What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
Make sure you stay connected to friends and family as it will make a big difference to how you feel. Remember as well that everyone is struggling and feeling alone, reach out and talk about it.
4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?
Face mask and sanitiser in your pocket! It will help you feel protected.
5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I love this post about some great walks around Birmingham. I think especially for the summer it is nice to know about some natural walks!
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Ohh hard question – my Mum’s cooking we went over for dinner on Saturday and she always makes something delicious for us to have!
Plus it was all rounded off with a brownie!
7) What has made you smile this week?
Just watching the world go by, when I’m really fatigued sometimes just being slow and doing nothing can really help.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Great to see the you are checking on people even though you are exhausted. Hope your partner is loving the PS5 as well.
He is – it was nice to be able to get him one at last I have to say.
Wow. I can’t believe we’re at week 71. Who would have ever guessed it would still be effecting our lives at this point?
It is crazy isn’t it – I really wish we had an end in sight as well.
Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling exhausted, it’s that part of the summer that I think does feel draining, I definitely feel it and feel in need of a boost of energy.
It’s hard isn’t it – I don’t think the weather helps being so up and down it definitely seems to affect me.
Even though you are sadly feeling exhausted, I LOVE that you are still making time for others and reaching out and making sure people are ok, this is fab. Yay to managing to get a PS5 I bet your other half is loving it xx
It is just urghhh – sometimes I wish I was able to have an energy tree! Definitely need one.
Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling exhausted, we’re all so used to not going out much when we do it’s hard and even harder for you with your hospital trips. My week has been good though thanks, just doing things around the house x
How’s the house going now? Are you almost done, it looks incredible!
I always have hand sanitiser with me, I was sent a load the other week and wipes and have stocked up me, my mum and C plus our cars. Well done for getting a PS5 as know others who are still struggling to get one. Home cooked meals are always the best especially when you are not cooking them
They are a must these days, aren’t they? I was lucky I think I had an alert on my phone so saw when it came into stock, it went out of stock again just after I got one! So quick!
Wow ! I still can’t get hold of a ps5, they are defo still like gold dust! Hahah
I had a stock alert on my phone so it was pure luck I was looking at it when it popped up as I couldn’t sleep. They seem to be coming into stock in a few stores at the moment but going out again very quickly.
Nothing like mum’s homecooked meals and brownies! Hope you feel better and less exhausted next week.
There really isn’t is there? She is definitely the best cook I know.
I am so sorry you have been feeling so exhausted but yay for Ash getting his PS5 finally – bet he’s enjoying that!
He is – the graphics change and speed has him really impressed so far.
My son had to go into self isolation just 1 day before the end of the school year as someone in his bubble tested positive so he was upset about not being able to go in on his last day.
Oh no that’s not good I am so sorry he didn’t make his last day.
