A Face for Blogging
There are a number of questions which keep popping up in the blogging world such as; is blogging over, should we all concentrate more on vlogging?
Of course, these questions got me thinking, could it be the end? Of course, the answer is yes one day the blogging world may come crashing down, but I personally don’t believe that will happen anytime soon. Yes, it is an ever-evolving world, it is certainly very different to how it was when I first stepped foot into over 6 years ago, but that isn’t a bad thing. It has allowed both bloggers and the companies who look to work with them to expand and change the ways in which they interact with each other, bringing readers a much smoother and more honest experience.
For companies, bloggers as micro influencers offer a great stage to bring products and services to their smaller, yet very often engaged audience, there are many bloggers out there who have an audience that returns with every post to see what has been happening in their world.
Of course, many people blog and vlog very successfully together and while I have tried making the odd video and probably will carry on doing so from time to time, blogging is most definitely my passion.
After all, I am not that confident in how I look, my health issues mean I was never slim thanks to the medication I was on, but add on top going from active to having mobility issues I, of course, put on extra weight which makes me very self-conscious.
I also stutter when I get flustered and brain fog kicks in, with words going straight out of my head, it’s a bit of an ongoing joke between Ash and I some of the things I can come out with when I forget a simple word and thingy, whatsit and hoohaa are definitely words I use way too often.
So no for me vlogging is never going to be my forte, but I do believe both have their places and much like music and the old issue of radio vs the music video I do believe over time they will find the perfect way to exist in harmony.
What are your thoughts on blogging and vlogging?

P.S. Bex and I have set up a Facebook group for all things bargains, competitions and just for a general chin wag – please do come and join us in Futures & LIABD Lifestyle Community.

I think some people are better at expressing themselves through blogging, sometimes people are better at vlogging, I think it also depends what type of audience you want to appeal to, I would much rather read blogs than watch vlogging 🙂
I guess there are just people who loves each of it, blogging and vlogging. For me, blogging is for me but vlogging is not a forte but I’d love to learn about it. Maybe it will boost my confidence to record myself on video.
What a good post and I really love reading this and so glad that you share this with us.
Even though I have done well with public speaking I don’t have the urge to try out Vlogging. I really enjoy writing and will stay on that path for the meantime.
I love writing as well, I’m not a speaker to be honest, I used to be but not anymore.
I love blogging and hate vlogging – I don’t like myself on camera, but I am secretly obsessed with my own writing lol
Haha it is strange how we seem to go one way or the other, but I am glad there is a choice.
I used to think we had to look a certain way and speak a certain way to be a vlogger. Over the past 3 months I have watched loads of Book Tube vloggers though and it shows that anyone can do it. Some of my favourite you tubers pause when they are speaking and make mistakes. Some are generally hilariou. Lots of them are large people but this more often than not makes them appear more realistic and watchable. Have a go!
Thank you and perhaps I will perhaps it would do me good long term 🙂
I’ve tried vlogging and I hate it. I can do it, and sometimes I find a company really wants me to create a vlog and I will collaborate not hat but I try to avoid it. I prefer writing and having the ability to talk through pen and paper (as such). x
It is interesting how we do like different things and how we are drawn to do different things. x
I’ve done vlogging and still do occassionally. I also create helpful videos, but blogging is where my passion lays
I am with you on that, I always want to blog but vlogging just makes me shaky haha.
Really enjoyed this blog post, thank you for sharing. x
I am a new vlogger as well! It is nerve wracking, but you gotta dive in head first.
That is true, there is never a better time than now as they say.
I love blogging. I would love to do more video – but that will have to wait until all of my kids are in school this fall. You do have to adapt and change. That is the same with any business.
Good luck with taking on vlogging, I agree you do have to adapt and change, I just don’t think you have to feel as though you must vlog and blog, blogging still has life left 🙂
I’m so glad you have said this, I hate vlogging too, I have done it on occasion, but you know that old saying about a great face for radio…that is definitely me!
I do honestly believe blogging has so much life left in it, the written world will always be a thing!
