May 11 – Life in a Lockdown #58
Gosh, it seems a while since I did a Life in a Lockdown post. I had to take the past two weeks off, as I’ve been in hospital and then recovering (a little). I will in the long term write a post about being in hospital during a pandemic as I’ll be honest it is hard. I’m still not 100% sure exactly what happened, as I am waiting on some results but there definitely seemed to be a penicillin reaction and multiple infections going on.
Right now I’m just constantly exhausted, probably both because of being ill and my CFS/ME having a flare-up as well.
We’ve just across the country had some local elections, I have to admit with being so ill and hardly anyone campaigning around here it has gone over my head a little. But as expected I still live in a Tory stronghold.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 58 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
At the moment I’m just existing day to day. I’m absolutely exhausted, even getting dressed feels like I’ve completed a marathon and is taking me a long time to do. I feel absolutely useless around the house as I seem to be making more issues than I’m cleaning up.
I love the fact we should be able to hug other people from the 17th. I’m hoping my Dad agrees as I could 100% do with a Mum hug.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
Not a lot – resting up for the most part. Watching a lot of YouTube, some anime and catching up on TV I had missed while in hospital for the most part.
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I’m going over to YouTube this week as I’ve spent a lot of time laying down and just watching things. I really like Ghost Town Living.
He owns an old mining town and the videos are about doing it up and exploring it. I love seeing all the views and there is something incredible about seeing in all the mines, that once used to be such a busy place.
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
I want to give my Mum a hug – does that count? Boris said we can hug and I’m keeping him to that.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
You might be expecting this answer, nothing. I have a new bunch of flowers on the way which might feature in next weeks post as it’s a subscription service from a local florist and she always sends the most beautiful flowers.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Ash and my parents, they have done so much to look after me while I haven’t been coping well.
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
It is hard. Especially when you are hospitalised and can’t have visitors, honestly it didn’t even cross my mind how hard that would be until it happened to me.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Hope you feel better soon <3
Thank you so much.
Hope you feel better soon, glad to be finally able to get inside a pub again, and have a pint without having to lookout for the weather.
Thank you. I can definitely see some people have been enjoying getting out and about!
Flares are the worst! I am so disappointed that we have stayed in a tory area, it is so awful, especially after all that has gone on with the pandemic.
It is crazy isn’t it – it’s like people forget everything that has happened.
You’re still recovering and you’re not doing well, it doesn’t mean you’re useless. I really hope you get your mum hug soon x
Thank you so much on both counts – I got a Mum hug on Monday I was curled up unable to do much so it was the best.
I’m sorry to hear you’ve been so unwell Sarah ((gentle hugs)) hope you get that real one soon x
Thank you so much seems to be taking forever to start feeling better.
Sorry to read about your bad health, I hope you improve & feel better soon. I’m glad we are slowly coming out of lockdown, I just hope the vaccine rollout speeds up & stops people from being really ill from covid, I’m still apprehensive about easing of lockdown because a lot of people still haven’t had their first vaccine yet
Thank you. I have to admit I feel the same, I worry it is too soon especially with this Indian variant becoming rampent.
I’ve just done a food shop so nothing exciting there. I can’t wait to hug my parents too. It’s been so long now. Hope you’re dad says yes xx
It is so hard isn’t it – a hug means so much yet I didn’t really think about it before just another thing I took for granted.
You have had a rough time, and I totally get how just getting dressed can make you feel so exhausted. Just keep resting and looking after yourself. I hope you get to give your Mum a big hug soon x
Thank you, I’ve hardly moved from bed or the sofa yet just everything is sending me over the edge of exhaustion at the moment.
Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you so much I am hoping things pick up soon on the health front lol.
I hope you feel better next week! Ghost town living sounds like a really interesting show – i’ll have to take a look when I next get the chance. I seem to always need new things to watch, with all this freetime in Lockdown.
Honestly it’s a really interesting channel, I would absolutely love to visit myself one day I have to admit.
We had a good Mother’s day celebration. I say “good” in the sense that me, my sister and my daughter celebrated together here in our house. Can’t go outside of the city, so we just slaved ourselves in the kitchen and made lunch for everyone. In the afternoon, we visited my mom’s grave and laid flowers.
Aww bless you at least you got to spend sometime together I think at the moment even doing that is a huge thing.
I am sorry that you have been feeling so exhausted and I hope you get to hug your mum asap! I can’t wait to hug my mum.
Thank you – stupid health hey lol.. Mum hugs are totally the best aren’t they?
I’m so glad lockdowns coming to and end in the UK. We’ll I hope it is, anyhow. Seems like it’s been a rollercoaster for you!
Yes hopefully it will all go well and we can go back to a bit of normality.
