Life in a Lockdown #13
Happy Tuesday, I hope your week is a good one!
I can’t believe this time has rolled around again.
I must admit that each week seems to be running into the next at the moment. The world is such a strange place, hard to understand. I do wonder how in years to come I will look back on this time, will I re-read these posts to remember these feelings?
To kick off this post of course I must say thank you to Bex at Futures for coming on this journey of lockdown remembrance each week and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part I promise it is simple:
We do ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, with how you find the link-up! You will be able to copy all the questions from below to answer in your own world.
Then all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and pop your link in the inlinkz so we can come and read your post.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
4) What advice do you have for others?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) How has your routine been this week?
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?
8) Anything else?

So what did week 13 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
It’s been a strange week, I’ve still felt ill and it has been so hot!
I don’t do heat. The way we quickly go from normal to hot, then the thunder gives me a headache. So I’ve spent most of the week in front of a fan, just trying to carry on. It doesn’t give us a chance to get used to it.
My dreams have been awful this week, they have left me feeling very strange and dissociating all day long, as they are based around some previous trauma.
I did talk to my CPN and she’s managed to get me on a DBT course which should start next month. I’m really thankful for this, although scared too. I can only hope it helps.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

I’ve gone back to trying to listen to some audiobooks. I have really missed reading, as it something I struggle to do now thanks to my keratoconus.
I’ve been playing with my audible (affiliate link) settings and found that turning up the narration speed helps me. Who knew!
So hopefully I can spend some time off in different worlds.
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
We are still staying at home.
I mean with my issues that isn’t anything out of the norm. However, I also don’t really have any want to go to the shops or the beach. The idea in fact sets off my anxiety, which is something I thought might happen when things started to go back to normal.
For now, though I think staying at home, playing it safe isn’t a bad thing.
4) What advice do you have for others?
Look after yourself and your family.
You will know what feels right and what doesn’t. Just because someone you know is doing something, doesn’t mean you have to if you don’t feel it is right.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
I haven’t this week, to be honest, I’ve been really good and not spent anything other than what we needed to buy and I’m sure you don’t want to hear about my weekly shop!
6) How has your routine been this week?
It’s been weird, the dreams will have me up early one day and my fatigue has me curled up in bed all the next.
The heat, of course, didn’t help which definitely left me feeling drained on top!
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over this week?
Nothin at all. We do have a holiday planned for a couple of months time and I’m not sure what we are going to do about it.
We will probably have to decide sooner rather than later to be honest though.
8) Anything else.

Lots of realizations, definitely a tough time for many right now, hope you’re safe and taking care!
Thank you so much – definitely do OK! Surviving lol.
I keep forgetting to take part in this, popping a note in my diary for next week! I have been meaning to read Eve of Man for ages, how are you finding it?
Do come and join us! I finished it in like 2 days ?, I really enjoyed it and will definitely be getting the next one. It jumps between characters but does it well and flows.
It is much nicer now isn’t it – I am glad the weather has cooled down.
I’ve not been good my anxiety disorder is playing up . I think it’s the stress with this virus and not been able to have my grandson is just heartbreak ing plus not done anything in the heat . I feel physically and mentally drained . Just trying to keep my mind occupied and only doing what I can. Let’s hope all this passes soon x
Oh no, I am so sorry your anxiety disorder is playing up – it’s just so mentally draining this whole time.
