Life in a Lockdown #10
We’ve made double digits!
Can you believe it?
Here we are for week 10. Part of looks forward to writing these posts each week, while part of me also looks forward to the day we will no longer be writing them.
I guess for now we are in limbo, not quite in lockdown anymore, but neither back into a world of normality.
In fact, the world has taken all sorts of turns over the past few weeks, which have left me speechless and just wishing I knew more and could help better.
As always I must say my thanks to Bex at Futures for being with me each week as we talk about the lockdown and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea! She’s not only a wonderful host but a good friend as well.
We are often asked how to take part, well it is simple, I promise!
We ask that you give both Bex and I a shout out in your post, then you will find the questions below to quickly copy and paste.
After that just pop back to mine or Bex’s post and pop your link in the inlinkz so we can pop over and read what you have been up to!
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
4) What advice do you have for others?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) How has your routine been this week?
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?
8) Anything else?

So what did week 10 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
The corona dreams are back.
I’ve always had weird dreams but now I’ve realised that I have corona dreams too. I think as I am less used to them they ware me out more, however that could also be the weather changing.
I found the first part of the week OK – then I went downhill for the second part. I’m not sure if I emotionally exhausted myself doing an hour-long CPN call which included forms of how I feel or if it was the weather change or even the random dreams. Actually it was probably them all.
I will probably blog at some point about the whole CPN / mental health situation. It looks like I’ve had my diagnosis change or added to. As well as BPD and depression, they are looking at me having Cyclothymia. Once I have it written in black and white that it’s something I’ll talk about. Until then I’m taking it little by little in growing my understanding.
Honestly, I’m worried about a second wave, however, I do hope I proven wrong.
I also find it very sad that in the middle of a pandemic people are having to fight and protest for their lives.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
Sleeping – this week the answer has definitely been sleeping. A LOT.
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
I mentioned last week we were going to my parents for dinner and we did!
It was a very surreal experience, they had opened their patio doors and put a camping table across them. So they stayed in the dining room while Ash and I sat outside.
I have to admit it was lovely to spend some time with them, but it was hard not to just shove the table out the way and go inside for a hug.
4) What advice do you have for others?
Just keep talking about what you need to.
It will help you and it will help others.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

I bought this awesome Lilith Candle from Bubbasmelty. They are a company I wish I had come across before as they are all about raising awareness for mental health and hidden disabilities, which is, of course, something close to my heart as well.
Their whole range is vegan friendly and uses soy blends, with ingredients from the UK and Ireland. This was via The Alternative Marketnight on Facebook.

Next up is Amazonite Griffin, I’ve bought from them a couple of times now at their market event they hold. If you love a good sleep spray you should 100% buy one.
This time I went for a mix of candles, wishes and their warrior women spray, which is so uplifting. They do a lot of things with crystals as well as making different sprays and candles.

Last but not least is MORE candles from Heavenly Darkness this time. Once again it was from a Facebook market event, this time the Magical Realm Market where I won £5 towards any item I wanted.
So yeah I got candles.
One thing I love is how different all these brands are with their scents, presentation and styles. I cannot wait to try them all out.
6) How has your routine been this week?
Pants – that is the only word for it, I’ve not got up at the same time once, I’ve hardly managed to do anything and just wanted to sleep.
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over this week?
Nope, nothing.
Just taking everything one day at a time now.
8) Anything else.
Take care of yourself and those you love.

The drains thing has been a big thing around here – we definitely got some localised flooding due to them this week – it was crazy to see! Hopefully, they can be cleared properly soon, I know some residences all went out and tried their best to unblock them somewhat.
That is true – I just hope it works out well is all.
I have tried to keep a routine during this lock down . It’s hard as one can get depressed and lonely although we have been luck that there is so much technology that allows us to keep contact with our family and friends.
Definitely technology definitely makes a difference to allow us to stay connected.
I think the mental health implications of this lockdown and people having to be at home are MASSIVE and so many people are going to need a lot of help in a system that is already, frankly pretty broken. I am off to look up your new diagnosis as I think I know what it is, but I am not sure. I can imagine it’s hard to have that added to process during all this.
I am glad you got to see your parents, but I am the same, I just want to hug people. And I am not a hugger, so what has this all done to me.
We carry on, I guess?
Definitely it’s been a weird process as I’ve been introduced to new people who are part of my “care system” and it’s all over the phone and I HATE phones. It’s so so stressful – I just, I hope I can meet up with professionals after it all and talk face to face.
Cant believe we’re on week 10! It gone by so fast but it also feels like ages?!
I’ve been keeping up y workouts daily and learning Illustrator! x
It is crazy isn’t it! Well done at keeping up with things!
It’s pretty much the same here with a few slight modifications. It was different when school was in though.
I think the school has started to go back in areas here which is strange.
Taken up walking and losing weight so not all bad.
Oh wow well done – good luck!
We haven’t seen any other family member yet, but yes I bet it feels like a surreal experience! Can’t wait though.
Oh no I hope you get to see some of them soon!
Your candles look amazing, I really need to stock up on my candle collection as it is running way to low at the moment.
Honestly, there is nothing like a good candle is there? I get through them so quickly as well.
Sounds like a great candle. I hope everything will be fine soon and we could live a normal life again.
Which ones your favourite from the candles I would love to know!
I love that you are able to reflect on things and be honest about it, as that is so important to do especially in these tough times. I don’t know why, but even I am having weird dreams! Unfortunately, I can’t sleep though much nowadays due to all the stress
Apparently it has something to do with waking up more naturally we are more likely to remember them then, though I’m not sure I 100% agree as I can remember mine quite vividly even when the alarm wakes me up lol.
Even though not normal, I am so glad that you got to go to your parents for dinner. Also love the look of that candle too xx
Thank you it really made a difference to my mood I think.
Yes life in lockdown is different and difficult, we made it 10th week, still lot of things happening and going on. I like your post and candles.
Definitely it is nice that things are slowly come out and changing in some ways but also a worry.
You have been doing so much. All I seem to do is sleep.
That’s pretty much all I feel like I’m doing to be honest lol.
The candles sound great!
They smell absolutely amazing.
Yes, we are not in lockdown any more but we are far away from normality. I think I prefer lockdown until everything is more clear outside.
Definitely it’s a weird limbo at the moment isn’t it?
This is such a weird crazy time. So ready for some since of normal but not sure when that will come. Love the candles you mentioned.
It’s strange as we are all in different places as well, hopefully it will all go well.
Lockdown has a big impact on our everyday lives some maybe in a negative sides. But my family and I had high hopes that one day it will be ok again .
I’m sure it will all be OK again we just have to keep that hope.
I’ve been up and down also strange nightmares living with anxiety is pretty hard at this time . Loving your candles I’m a candleholic I have to admit . Missing my little grandson I just want to see him now it’s been too long
Oh bless you – can you see him now with the new rule over 1 person? I find that so strange so a single parent and child could go and see a pair of grandparents, or a single grandparent could go and see a parents and child, but if there’s more than 1 person in 1 household you can’t?!
You know how much I love candles so I now want all of the ones you’ve mentioned haha. So glad you got to see your parents.
Hahah I’m so bad I’ve been candle addicted of late whoops!
It has been such a long process, we are gradually letting up on restrictions and returning to normalcy here. I’m glad you got to spend time with your parents though during all of this.
Definitely I think going back to normal will be very weird for many of us as it comes around.
I think we’re all being gradually ‘ground down’ by this experience – I am definitely running out of steam. Here in Wales practically nothing has changed. I thought about going to see my parents as you did but I’m still too nervous to do it. They are both in their 80s so at the tip of the high risk scale. I’m glad you managed to spend time with them.
It was nice to do but we were so careful, we didn’t go inside and they didn’t come outside, it was hard in many ways to be honest.
Wow 10 weeks I dont think we have to last much longer , but it’s weird it’s gone by in a blur
It has gone past at a weird rate hasn’t it – hopefully we don’t get a second wave and we will be able to come out now.
Thanks for sharing how your week went. For me, it is the same since the lock down started – walking to and from the grocery store, pharmacy, and my sister’s house to check on her daughter. Today, I had to take our dog to the vet because he has an ear infection. Poor fur baby, he had to go into the clinic alone. I was not allowed inside because of the social distancing rule. 🙁
Oh no poor thing – I hope your doggo gets the help he needs, it must have been so hard seeing them go in without you.
The lockdown has been a mixed bag and now, it is more confusing, we’re still not sure when we will get back to full normality. The promise of the vaccine is the hope we have now. Fingers crossed to the time we can get back to full normality.
Definitely everything seems so mixed up at the moment, what should we or shouldn’t we be doing.
A few highs and lows for you this week and I hope things can get a little better for you. Lovely that you got to see your parents, but I can imagine it being very hard not t o give them a hug yet. How lovely is that Lileth Bubbasmelty candle?! What a great compantly they are to do what they do. Take each day as it comes, your doing great x
It was so weird and hard – I struggled with it in many ways but glad we got to spend some time with them as I used to see them so often. It is so good it smells amazing!
I’m glad you were able to have dinner with your parents! I just met my granddaughter for the first time this weekend, she is 2 months old. Like you, I’m concerned about a second wave. My daughter has been protesting in NYC and while I’m really proud of her, I’m also worried about her safety and her health.
Oh my goodness I bet that must have been amazing to go and meet your granddaughter, after so long of waiting.
We’re on week fourteen here in Florida. I can’t believe its been this long already
It will be very odd to look back on 2020 I think in years to come.
I’m glad you were finally able to see your parents. The restrictions have eased in my state, but I am afraid we are in for a second wave.
I feel the same about here, we in England have come out a lot quicker than Wales, Scotland and NI and I think sadly that is going to come back to haunt us.
Thank you for sharing your lockdown dairy with us. I can’t believe it’s already week ten.
It’s going past really slowly but also so fast as well – it’s so strange to live.
What a cool candle! I love supporting small stores.
Ive had odd dreams as well. And I wish I could sleep more, but alas, I have kids and cats who insist I be up and meet their needs.
Oh no 🙁 I hope you get to catch up with your sleep at some point.
Aww that’s so lovely you got to see your parents again this week! I saw my family for the first time since lockdown and although surreal it was so perfect 🙂
It really is surreal, isn’t it? I found it hard to not just act like normal.
I love scented candles and the ones you bought look really interesting. I hope they smell as nice as they look
They small amazing honestly! I can’t wait to have tried them all lit as well.
I think normal will be very different for a while to come – I’m hoping so much that we won’t spike in the weeks to come as we definitely aren’t listening to the science in the way we are reopening.
I’ve been having weird dreams too! Last night I had a dream that my parents sent me to this weird dystopian 100 years in the future high school to cure my depression. It was so bizarre.
Oh wow, that’s so weird – last night I was swimming through like a river system with other people, I was meant to be holding onto someone for some reason but they got swept away and all I had was a rope or something tied to them. Then I was trying to pick up things as we went past them because for some reason I needed to collect them as well as hold onto this person?!
I love this lockdown diary, it is such a great way to track the weeks and something to lock back on.
Dinner with your parents must have been amazing. I didn’t see my Dad this week, he didn’t need any bulky shopping delivered and the rain meant I couldn’t sit in his Garden, its a real killer not seeing him but just as hard when I do but I can’t give him a hug x
Yeah, I asked them if we could do it again this week but the weather is going to put it a bay 🙁 which is a shame.
It seems that everyones routines are all over the place at the moment. I am so glad you managed to see your parents must have been weird not being able to hug them. It sounds like you have needed to sleep x
Definitely I just wanted to give my Mum such a big hug! One day soon I can only hope.
It really is strange. We are on week 11 up here and lockdown restrictions are a little behind England. I am with you on the dreams and sleeping has been strange. I am working full time from home and the kids are at homeschool. I love those candles. Will have a look at them. xxx
Oh gosh I bet it is hard to keep up with both of those!
Love the candle from Bubbasmelty, looks awesome
It smells absolutely incredible as well – love the Lily fragrance.
big hugs xxx
Thank you ❤
