Top 5 WordPress Custom Font Plugins
One thing many people like doing when designing their own blog is to choose the types of fonts used.
This can be fonts used in headers, Pinterest pictures and even newsletter imagery. Alongside those used within the post for both the main wording and the H tags.
When it comes t font plugins there is a whole host of them out there to choose from.
So I thought I would bring together the top 5 WordPress custom font plugins. Offering you a place to start the hunt for your perfect font choice.
Use Any Font.
The name says it all with this plugin, it lets you use any font on your website.
However, if you want to access this plugins full power you are going to want to pay the $10 for an upgrade.
It works with both the original WordPress editor and the new Gutenberg Editor. As well as being integrated with a whole host of different themes.
What is more your fonts are all downloaded to your own server, meaning you don’t have to worry about any issues should their end go down. Also, it means you use multiple fonts, all attached to their own element within your website.
Fontsy.
If you like the idea of a plugin which offers it all in one and just needs a click or two to work then Fontsy might be for you.
You can easily check out their website to find out what they offer.
Their simple to use plugin allows you to import your own fonts, or choose from their array of free and premium fonts.
What’s more, they also offer a range of glyphs built into some of their fonts; such as Bologna, and Monstera. Offering you a new way to jazz up your blog post titles.
Easy Google Fonts.
Perhaps one of the most well-known choices is Easy Google Fonts. Offering over 600 google fonts, this simple plugin lets you see in real-time the edits you are making. Which is a big help when you are playing around with different looks.
If you are after a simple to use plugin which is compatible with most of the themes on the market. As well as giving you full control over the fonts used on your blog, then this is one to check out.
I would definitely recommend this one, to bloggers starting out with playing with fonts. This is due to the fact, it is simple and easy to use. However, there are other plugin like Google Fonts Typography, which offer different and unique fonts.
OMGF Custom Font.
OMGF Custom Font Plugin is another plugin made to work with google fonts.
The plus side of this one is once again it downloads the fonts and generates stylesheets using the Google Fonts Helper API. This means your website should load faster as you aren’t trying to load external sources.
However, this plugin does offer a more complex set up so as such perhaps isn’t one for beginners.
Fonts.
If you are after something really simple then Fonts simply adds addition font choices to the WordPress editor.
As such you will have a bigger choice when writing and editing posts, both with style and size, thanks to the two extra drop-down menus.
Wondering what fonts you can pick up? Well, Fonts uses fonts from both google fonts and beyond.
However, this does limit the ways in which you can edit your font, so may not be the best choice for everyone.

I love experimenting with all the many types of fonts available. There are hundreds of fonts out there and something for everybody.
And of course, it’s always good to customise your own as well. 😉

These all sound great, I’ve only heard of google fonts before. I don’t use any plugin though but good to know I can to make it simple when needed

I used to have to know quite a bit about fonts to make sure presentations and pitchbooks used the correct font for the client we were working for. However, not having worked for several years, I have got completely out of touch with the range available.
It is amazing so many are out there, I have to admit I was so surprised!

Years ago when I was doing digital design I got a bunch of fonts installed, and honestly barely use a lot of them. Google is a great resource for anything though, including fonts!
Definitely you can often never beat google when it comes to things.
Fonts are a great way to individualize your site with custom branding. My wordpress theme came with access to google fonts built in.
Definitely I think it can really make you stand out.

I did it 5 years ago I think now and haven’t looked back, I know it’s not for everyone but for me I like the difference.
These are cool! I haven’t really done too much experimenting with fonts, but there are some neat looking ones here.
There’s so much you can do with them, always fun to have a play.
Fonts at a lot to a website’s identify and feel so having a variety to choose from definitely helps to make your website to stand out more
