Creative Award Ideas
There is nothing like being told you have won an award. That all your hard work and effort has caught the eye of others. That said, sometimes it can be hard to work out how to reward those who have won. With that in mind, here are some creative ideas to help you with the perfect award.
Trophy

Of course, the most common of all ways to celebrate a win is a trophy. These days they can come in all shapes, sizes and details. In fact, I’ve used them myself as one Christmas I ran a fun award ceremony over in UK Bloggers where winners walked away with a glass trophy and a bag of chocolates. It was pretty fun to put together and a nice way to say thank you to other members of the blogging community.
Some trophies can be ongoing year after year, a cup, silver plate, plaque, etc, is engraved each year with the recipient’s name and the year and passed on year on year. It soon develops its very own history with all the recipients’ names. Trophies2U, one of the UK’s leading trophy suppliers, takes great pride in providing crystal awards for corporate events.
Key Ring
If you are after something which will last a long time but doesn’t cost a fortune, then a personalised keyring could be the way to go. This could also be given alongside a trophy or day experience as something to keep.
There are all sorts of things you could have embossed onto a keyring, and they offer something long-lasting and useful.
Definitely something, a bit different from the normal trophy award you see around.
Day Experience.

If you want something a bit different to give to your award winners. Then how about offering up something like a day experience to the winner?
This gives them memories to hold onto from their experience, as well as days to treat and look after themselves. Which, if you have been working hard, can make a huge difference to your mood.
Ideas for a day experience could be anything from a spa day to a track day, depending on the recipient.
Something Personal.
We are all individuals. As such, gifting an award which shows you know the person well can mean a lot. Not only can you show you are thankful for their work, but it also shows you do know them as an individual as well.
For example, golf balls or a fishing reel with their name on them. Or to keep the same sporty theme, a coaching session for the golfer, a day of fishing on a favourite river with a guide.
Most sports or pastimes have something to offer: a tour of their favourite stadium, brewery, city, building, restaurant, distillery; the list is endless. I’ve even seen a tiny share of a Scottish castle.
You could also take a fun twist with this and have something personalised to look like the person, too. Perhaps a Toby Jug, or a portrait, or a cake with a picture of the recipient on it.
Clock.

Engraved clocks can make for an elegant and sophisticated way to present an award. They are perhaps best suited for longstanding awards. Something for the recipient to show just how much time and effort they have put into being with a company.
If you are careful with the engraving, they can even be passed on through the family.
There you have some creative award ideas. I hope that if you are looking to do something different, this has helped you come up with some ideas.

I’ve not thought of it before but now that you’ve mentioned it, there are many things you can engrave on. What a lovely idea!
Some great thoughtful ideas for awards I like the keyring idea 🙂
I love the experience days idea. Especially since I haven’t really been on a day out to somewhere nice for a long time.
It is such a lovely way to reward someone isn’t it? Gives them real memories as well.
I love the idea of the experience days, even better if it’s a team prize as a day away together!
It is such a lovely thing to do isn’t it and something you will always remember.
An interesting list. Thank you. I am drawn to the idea of personalised cartoons and caricatures that reflect the interests or efforts of the individual.
It is something you could have so much fun with isn’t it?
These are such nice ideas, I definitely wouldn’t mind winning a day experience as an award!
It would be a fun idea and something you will remember.

Sometimes it’s nice to have a good trophy isn’t it?
I love the idea of day experiences as there really is something or an experience for everyone, no matter what their hobbies or interests are x
Most definitely, there is always something someone will love!
I think experience as an award is the best idea ever, everyone loves a trophy but an experience holiday is the best.
Nothing quite like a holiday is there – I mean who wouldn’t want to work for someone who gives those away.
great ideas, love a good trophy!
There’s something about having one to show off isn’t there?
I love the idea of experiences as an award! I like to be nostalgic and keep any awards I’ve won, but creating memories is so important too!
Definitely sometimes memories are the best things to collect as well.
I think its lovely to receive something tangible when you’ve won an award but at the same time, there’s nothing better than a spa day! xxx
It makes you feel like it is more real doesn’t it?
Some great ideas. I like the idea of an experience day, something a bit different.
Definitely I think sometimes we all need something a bit different too!
I love the idea of having a reward day, something like a spa or restaurant treat. Something I wouldn’t normally buy for myself, but the treat would be so enjoyed. I think it is nice to have these kind of things in any group, just boosts moral a little and makes you feel worthy. Always a good thing.
Definitely, its a day to look after yourself as well and just get away from it all – which we all need at times.
Fantastic list of alternative ways to award someone rather than a common trophy. Think the experience day as a prize is fantastic.
It would be something you would always remember wouldn’t it?
Having an experience as an award prize would be great as you can relax and do something just for you to celebrate x
