Wilkinson Sword Intuition Sensitive Care Razor Review from Gemma Etc.

Razors aren’t the most exciting things to talk about, but I’ve recently featured a few hair removal posts, and they’ve been popular. Razors might not be the most exciting beauty product, but many of us use them daily, so it makes sense that they’d be popular. I really like the Wilkinson Sword razors, and recently I’ve featured their new Quattro for Women, and the FAB version. The Wilkinson Sword Intuition Sensitive Care Razor is a product I’ve repurchased countless times over the last 10 years. It’s my go-to razor whenever I’m short on time or my skin’s feeling particularly sensitive.

This range of razors is pretty chunky, and you can choose from a few different versions. I always choose this version as my skin’s on the sensitive side, and I find that this version helps to prevent the pesky razor bumps on the legs.

The razor with the handle and one cartridge is £8.99, and the pack of three replacement cartridges is £8.99. I spotted this multipack of both for just £8.99 at Superdrug, so it was a no-brainer.

For £8.99, you get the handle and three cartridges which is such amazing value. The website only has the standard version available and not the Sensitive Care one I bought. However, in-store you may be able to find this version. They’re pretty much the same, except the soap bar for the Sensitive Care contains pro-vitamin B5, vitamin E, and aloe vera for a gentler shave.

These razors used to come with a suction holder that you could stick to the wall of your shower, but the newer versions no longer come with them. This is a shame as they’re handy for allowing the water to drain away without affecting the soap surrounding the thin blades. I’d always recommend thoroughly shaking the razor after use as it can retain water within the cartridge.

Essentially, the Intuition range of razors has the typical multiple blades with comfort strips for an easy glide on the skin, but the razors are surrounded with a type of soap. With this razor, you don’t need to apply shaving gel or shower gel to your skin before shaving as, once you’ve wet the soap underwater, the soap acts as a shaving cream. This is the quickest razor to use by far, and the soap does a great job at softening the skin too. You simply wet the razor head, wet your skin, and then shave and rinse. It takes a matter of seconds. The head follows the contours on the skin for a close, safe shave.

While the razor has four blades, I find that it doesn’t give the closest of shaves, so I prefer something like the Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Women Razor for my underarms. This is my favourite razor for doing my legs as it’s so quick and easy to use. I do think the handle could be a little less chunky, but I like that it has a raised rubberised grip.

It’s so easy to change the cartridges too. There is a white raised button on either side of the razor, which you simply hold in, and the razor cartridge comes out, and then you simply slot the new one in. The razor also comes with a protective cap, to protect both the soap and the razor, which is handy for travel.

The only downside for me with this particular razor is how quickly the soap shrinks. This is why it’s important to shake away excess water. The good thing is that you can continue to use this razor like a conventional razor with shaving gel even when the soap has disappeared. I never get shaving rash, bumps or nicks when using the Wilkinson Sword Intuition Sensitive Care, which is why I always repurchase it whenever I see it on offer.
