All About Verso Skincare with BeautyQueenUK
Today the lovely Rachel from BeautyQueenUK is here to talk about one of her favourite brands Verso Skincare. I think I need to try some for myself soon! It sounds incredible and Rachel is my go-to source for all things beauty.
One brand you might have noticed featured on my blog is Verso, a brand I have come to know and love and one that excites me every time there is a new release. Established in Stockholm in 2013, Verso’s mission is to simplify your daily skincare routine by making it much simpler and more straightforward. To help you out, every product has a number!

To keep things simple, Verso’s hero ingredient is the Vitamin A Complex known as Retinol 8 and you will see that it is a feature in most of the Verso anti-ageing product range. Described as being eight times as effective as traditional retinol products but half as irritative, Retinol 8 stimulates the skin’s natural production of collagen which helps to reduce the signs of ageing. Retinol 8 targets your skin’s most vital needs, considerably improving its quality and texture while keeping your daily routine simple.
With 10 numbers within the range, Number 1 is all about cleansing.

Four products sit within the cleansing section:
- Verso Foaming Cleanser – cleanses and purifies the skin without causing dryness. It is formulated with fruit enzymes that break down dirt and makes cleaning the skin easier and more effective.
- Verso Enzyme Peel – This gentle exfoliating gel that uses AHAs and PHAs to remove dead skin cells, unblock pores and accelerate cell renewal, leaving the skin smooth and radiant. Full review here.
- Verso Micellar Water – An efficient and calming facial cleanser that instantly removes impurities and light makeup. Being Verso, however, alongside those Micellar molecules it is enriched with antioxidant Niacinamide and anti-inflammatory turmeric.
- Verso Acne Deep Cleanse – New to Verso, this is an exfoliating facial cleanser with a high concentration of salicylic acid for the purification of skin that is prone to acne and blemishes. It gently unclogs pores, removing excess oil and dirt, leaving your skin purified and primed for further treatment steps.
What I love about step one with Verso is that there is an option for everyone when it comes to your long-term cleansing routine.
The second step, Number 2 with Verso, is all about the products you use during the daytime.

Some people don’t use anything. Some people use one product and use nothing else. The options with Verso are as follows:
- Verso Daycream – Moisturises and protects the skin and is formulated with Niacinamide, Turmeric and Retinol 8. Together, these ingredients work to smooth the appearance of wrinkles, strengthen the skin barrier, reduce pigmentation and supply the skin with more much-needed energy and oxygen to refine and illuminate without irritating.
- Verso Anti Pollution – I have been a convert to anti-pollution mists since I attended a workshop showing what happens to your skin when you simply just walk around London and what a difference using a product like this can make. The Verso mist works to prohibit pollutant metals and gases from penetrating the skin and gives an extra shield to keep dryness, irritation and wrinkles away.
One of my favourite products from Verso, is the Anti-Pollution mist which isn’t in the photo because I used it all and got rid of the packaging. I love how it is a light mist that doesn’t soak your skin and it’s also really hydrating, so if you forget your moisturiser then this has you covered.
Step Number 3 deals with nighttime and while Verso has just one product for this step, there are in fact others from different stages you could use instead.

But to keep it simple:
- Verso Night Cream – Formulated with Retinol 8, Verso Night Cream calms, repairs and rejuvenates your skin. It does this using other ingredients in addition to Retinol 8, such as anti-oxidants from oats that protect your skin from future damage and Turmeric for its anti-inflammatory effects.
This cream is incredibly luxurious without being overly thick, greasy or tacky to the touch. It absorbs quite quickly and leaves my skin feeling super soft.
Next up is step Number 4 and from all of the stages within any Verso skincare regime, these products are the ones I have really enjoyed getting to know.

Called the ‘Boost’ section, these products are the little extras to find a space within your skincare routine with and they include:
- Verso Super Facial Serum – As serums go, this is one of the thickest textures I have used but it melts onto the skin in double-quick time. The perfect partner to both the Day and Night creams, it is incredibly nourishing. It features a higher dose of Retinol 8 than other Verso products. Alongside peptides that increase skin cell quality and renewal, the retinol serum works to improve the skin’s texture and ability to reduce wrinkles and discolouration.
- Verso Hydration Serum – If it is hydration that your skin needs, then this is the serum for you. Niacinamide is the main ingredient, its job is to strengthen the skin barrier, reduce fine lines and improve the appearance of enlarged pores. Alongside this is the use of ceramides, vitamin E and skin-identical fatty acids which all have an efficient antioxidant effect, defending skin from harmful environmental factors.
- Verso Antioxidant – Tumeric is the hero ingredient within this Booster and it protects the skin against UV radiation and decreases inflammation. The vitamin E included here blocks damaging free radicals from the skin’s surface, simultaneously improving the skin’s hydration capacity with help from tiny microalgae. Coming together, you have an incredibly hydrating, nourishing and protective serum. Full review here.
I have slowly been making my way through each of these serums and the Tumeric Booster is the stand-out product for me. I love the texture and how it feels on my skin and it is incredibly hydrating.
Within any good skincare range, there should be an eye care product and for Verso, this is step Number 5.

As well as the face and neck, Verso is all about eye care and there is to date just one product:
- Verso Super Eye Serum – The texture of this eye serum is how every eye care product should be. It is lightweight, instantly absorbs and doesn’t irritate or sting. Formulates using a higher concentration of Retinol 8, this eye serum is ideal for firming, smoothing and plumping out creases in the delicate eye area such as crow’s feet, creases, dark circles and eye bags. There is also a cocktail of amino acids that work to counteract puffiness.
Just a delight to use, it is easy to see why this product is Verso’s best-seller within the range.
Refine is step Number 6 for Verso and within this range, there are two products to fix blemishes and dark spots.

There are two products within the range and they are:
- Verso Dark Spot Fix – This product uses a unique combination of Niacinamide, Turmeric and Retinol 8 which together work to effectively decrease the appearance of hyperpigmentation and inhibit the skin’s overproduction of melanin, providing a more even skin tone. Then there is the addition of Hyaluronic acid which improves skin elasticity, making the skin plump and firm.
- Verso Blemish Fix – This is a blemish control gel with Retinol 8, Niacinamide, Turmeric, and Portulaca for effectively preventing and controlling breakouts and blemishes, an ingredient I know that can help the skin heal from cuts. This formula unclogs blocked pores, curbs oil production and reduces inflammation to promote a healthy and youthful complexion.
This is the range from Verso that I haven’t used but I do like that there are two different products and not just one as Dark Spots and Blemishes are not the same.
If you love facial oils then step Number 7 might well be the one you have been waiting for.

Depending on how my skin feels will depend on the oil I use. If it is dry then I want something with as many moisturising properties as I can possibly get my hands on. If it is feeling oily or clammy, especially in the warmer months, I don’t want anything too heavy.
- Verso Super Facial Oil – These oils from Verso are incredibly luxurious and such a treat. A lightweight, yet uber nourishing and moisturising oil it uses sunflower and canola oils to condition and protect against environmental stresses. Of course, the key ingredient – Retinol 8, works hard to provoke your skin’s repair and renewal processes.
What I love is that it comes in a spray format and to use you simply spray it onto the palm of your hands, or fingertips and massage it onto the skin, or you can apply a few drops into your day or nighttime moisturiser too.
Masking is one of my favourite pamper time treats, and step Number 8 with Verso is all about masking.

Verso has three options to choose from and they are all amazing and include:
- Verso Intensive Facial Mask – This is a hydrogel mask, and it is incredibly moisturising. As well as Retinol 8, this mask uses Grapefruit Extract, which is rich in vitamin C and has significant anti-oxidising effects. Ceramide 3 helps keep the skin hydrated and strengthens the skin barrier. Centella Asiatica soothes and improves skin firmness and elasticity. All this mask needs is 20 minutes of your time to work its magic.
- Verso Deep Hydration Mask – Again using hydrogel technology, this mask is the business if your skin is crying out for hydration. What is fascinating about these masks is Verso’s patented Artificial Moisturizing Factor (AMF) which supports the skin’s ability to retain moisture. Due to the powerful absorption ability of the AMF’s small silica particle structure, the skin can stay hydrated for up to 120 hours. Alongside AMF, this mask also contains Sodium Hyaluronate, Grapefruit Extract and Ceramide-3, which further support the AMF effect and keep the skin soft, smooth and hydrated.
- Verso Reviving Eye Mask – I have mentioned a few times that my under-eye area is often dehydrated. This eye mask is made from the same hydrogel material as the face mask, and once applied, it’s so refreshing and cooling. It is pure bliss to lie back, relax and apply. Like the facemasks, the ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid, anti-oxidant Grapefruit Extract and Canola Oil. When combined with Retinol 8, these ingredients make the delicate area around the eyes softer, smoother and firmer.
There is a great choice of masks from Verson, and I love that they’re included within the numbering system.
One area that is often forgotten about is the lips. I am a lip balm addict, but in recent years have changed my balm habits, dumping those that are full of useless ingredients for those that actually look after my lips.

Step Number 9 from Verso is all about the lips.
- Verso Lip Serum – Like the rest of the Verso range, this contains retinol 8. In addition, Verso Lip Serum also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides for increased hydration and plumping.
This is one of my favourite Verso products, and it is one I have repurchased. I love the texture, and I love that it actually soothes my lips. As autumn has now arrived and with the weather being changeable, my lips usually start to become quite dry and chapped. With this lip serum, it never happens. I also use this serum as a base when wearing matte lipsticks, and I have used it on other dry skin areas in times of need when I am out and about.
Finally comes Number 10 within the Verso skincare lineup, and we end with hand care.

Again, the hands are just as important as the skin on your face to look after.
- Verso hand Serum – Using Niacinamide and Turmeric together with Retinol 8, this unique combination effectively decreases hyperpigmentation on the back of the hands and improves skin elasticity. UV filters and Turmeric Extract help protect the skin from sun rays to prevent premature ageing.
What I love about this hand cream is how luxuriously rich it is, and yet it isn’t greasy or tacky, and it absorbs much quicker than many other hand creams I have tried. My hands are so soft and smooth after using and without having that horrid greasy film feeling left on the skin.
So there you have a brief guide to Verso Skincare. What I love about Verso is that it makes your skincare routine as easy as it could possibly be while also giving you the option to add in some extras such as an oil, mask and a fix in times of need.

They also have their own brand of exfoliating Muslin cloths, some of the softest I have ever tried, and they wash incredibly well, even on a cold wash.
