Hersey & Son Zodiac Necklace Review and Competition
I am so excited by all the pretty jewellery I’ve been able to share with you of late and today is no exception.
The Zodiac collection is a recent addition to the Hersey & Son collection and it is absolutely perfect for anyone who loves to read their horoscope or play with the stars.
Hersey & Son.
Hersey & Son are a silversmiths workshop based in London and are a company who specialises in sterling silver tableware, jewellery and gifts.
The company was started in 1971 by Michael Hersey. While his son, Stewart later joined the company 1981.
Today the company is run by a team of talented silversmiths, polishers and engravers. Who work hard to make sure their customers are offered only the best. They are also registered as part of the National Association of Jewellers.
Sterling Silver Scorpio Charm.
Of course at the heart of the Zodiac collection are the star signs.
Hersey & Son have released a beautiful range of 12 sterling silver charms. Each one hallmarked and depicting one of the 12 zodiac signs are available.
Being born mid-November I am of course a Scorpio.
The front of the charm offers a centre image of a scorpion, which is surrounded by decorative beading. The back is hallmarked and flat and can be engraved with up to 25 characters for that extra special touch.
Each of the zodiac charms has been designed in London and are hand cast in Birmingham.
One of the great things about the range is it has been designed to work with not only each other, but also other elements of Hersey & Son’s collection, such as their initial, or birthstone charms.
Citrine Birthstone Charm.
I decided to team my Scorpio charm, with one of my birthstone; citrine.
This is, of course, once again a collection of charms.
Think this delicate round of citrine, sits perfectly alongside the zodiac coin.
Interestingly did you know that wearing your birthstone is meant to bring protection as well as happiness and vitality?
Sterling Silver Scorpio and Citrine Necklace.
One of the great things about the Hersey & Son website is you can build up the necklace as you would like it be.
For instance, your staring place could the Scorpio charm. To this you will be then offered the chance to add additional zodiac charms, initials or birthstones, as well as engraving if wanted.
Went it comes to the necklace length, there are 4 choices available. From a child’s size up right up to a length of 31-33″.
One of the great things about the chains is they are adjustable by 2 inches and very simply so, as there is a larger loop at each 2″ interval.
Overall Thoughts.
I absolutely love this necklace, it is so well made and it seems like they have thought about everything.
From quality to design and wearability.
The fact that each piece is made to work with each other shows as they hang beautifully. Rather than feeling like they crowd each other.
For such a well-made piece the prices definitely surprise me as they come in at £40 for the Zodiac pendant, £20 for addition gemstone charms, £10 for initials and £30 for extra Zodiac signs. You can of course, buy any of the charms in necklace form, meaning there is something to suit everyone, no matter what they love.

These necklaces are lovely especially for birthday gifts, The birthstone is a nice touch aswell and great that this comes in different lengths and is also adjustable because of the bigger loop 🙂
