  1. Some great tips, but I wonder whether snuggling up and hunkering down makes S.A.D. more likely?. Maybe getting out in whatever daylight there is however cold it may be pays benefits too.

  2. It sounds absurd. but I unfortunately live in a very modern home – albeit dreaming of an old cottage somewhere in the Welsh mountains. To get the warm psychological feeling of an open fire- we have a DVD that shows an open fire on the television. so occasionally we give up TV and drink hot chocolate in our PJs in front of a very realistic virtual open fire. it is amazingly therapeutic!!!

  3. I hink the only thing we don’t have on your list is scatter pillows on the floor. I would also have to say add pets 🙂 I guess the cats and dog are our scatter pillows and make things nice and cozy!

  4. Candles and pillows for me, plus scents for a relaxing mood. But I dont over do it when my Amore is around, because he easily fall asleep.

  5. I agree with all of the tips except the lighting. I like nice bright rooms – like as bright as sunlight!

  6. I love warm colored lights. The white ones really just take everything to a serious note more so than cozy.

  7. we love our pillows and blankets in the family room.. When we are relaxing we want to be comfortable and that at times means cuddling in a blanket with your favorite pillow
