Elizabeth Grant Hydra Cell Active: Review
With winter on its way, now is the time to be looking at your skin care routine and wondering if you need to adapt it to the colder months, before the really cold weather hits us. I personally find I need a more intensive moisturiser over the winter as my skin does get a lot dryer. So I was really interested to try a new range to Ideal World; Elizabeth Grant Hydra Cell Active.
I have to admit I’d not heard much about Elizabeth Grant skin care before so I decided to some digging about it; this skin care range was started by Elizabeth Grant back in 1958, she had sadly suffered from damage to her own skin thanks to a bomb explosion during the Second World War. The days preceding this accident, were dark days for Elizabeth, she lost much of her self-confidence and would hide behind dark glasses.
However, in time, she was introduced to Torricelumn and began introducing it into her skin care routine with this new addition her skin improved and her confidence began to return. In time she shared it with her clients (back then she was makeup artist) and from there grew the brand that is known today.
I was sent three items from the Elizabeth Grant Hydra Cell Active range.

For anyone who suffers from dry skin, no matter the time of year, this is a must add addition to your skincare routine. It is specifically formulated to be ultra-hydrating to even the most parched of skin, by both trapping in hydration and moisturising, alongside restoring and rejuvenating the skin.
I was surprised by how light weight and easily absorbed this milky white serum is for something that is so hydrating, I really expected it to sit on the skin, but in reality my skin drank it in, yet it left it feeling so cared for and re-hydrated. It also seems to offer a good base for your moisturiser, perhaps helping it be absorbed better and yet again adding to that wonderful soft, moisturised and supple feel left from you skin gaining that missing hydration.

I wasn’t sure how a day and night cream would work, could they manage a balance of the lightness of day cream and the heaviness of night cream and still manage to have something that gives your skin all the nourishment you want from a cream?
I was so surprised to find that the Elizabeth Grant Hydra Cell Active range has managed to do it and it has made life so much simpler as I now only have to find room for one pot.
The cream itself has a wonderful silky smooth feel to it that just glides onto the skin, it has a quite a light fragrance to it, which is really quite pleasant. As well as adding to the hydration of the serum this cream also offers a tightening and plumping action and with the duo in action I found my skin was quickly looking more healthy and nourished.
Elizabeth Grant Hydra Cell Active Day & Night Eye Cream.
No good facial skin care regime is complete without a good eye cream, this one is aimed at helping reduce the look of ageing around the eyes, by fighting wrinkles and reducing the look of fine lines.
Much like the day and night cream you are looking at a soft and silky cream that is quickly absorbed into the skin, it has been formulated so it can be used both day and night. A little goes a long way with this cream and it has most certainly helped my under eye area become smoother over the time I have been using it, I was also pleased to notice that it made for a good base for makeup.
Over all the trio of products has made a huge difference to the hydration of skin, I was really impressed by how well it all soaked into the skin and how supple and pampered it left my skin feeling. I personally could not only see myself rebuying these three products but trying other items in the Elizabeth Grant range.

Winter is rough on my skin. I need to nab some new supplies before the dry months chap my skin.

I didn’t have such an issue with Australian winters, but in the UK I need a really rich moisturiser for winter. It looks like a good system.

I do not really use creams like this on my skin so I am not familiar with the brand but it sure sounds amazing. My regimen would often just include washing my face with a cleanser and putting on some moisturizer and that’s it.
As long as your routine works for you and your happy with it – I say why change what works 😉 x
