Check out this ring from Jewellery World

I love jewellery, I’m perhaps a bit of a magpie, drawn into things that shine and sparkle, to be secreted away into my collection and worn on just the right days and the items I love the most just have to be rings.

For as long as I can remember, I have had this slight obsession with rings – in fact, I have so many different sorts, from gemstones, to plain ones, engraved ones, to ones that mean something extra special, so when Jewellery World asked me to choose a piece of jewellery from them, I knew it had to be a ring.

But then came the hard part. Jewellery World have been crafting fine jewellery since 1974, and they aim to provide quality pieces at an affordable price for any pocket. As a website, they offer one of the biggest selections of gold jewellery available, which made making a choice nearly impossible, until I came across this one ring – a ring that I was thrilled they said I could review.

So what makes this ring special?

This beautiful piece features two pear-shaped sapphires (1.20ct) in a claw setting, sat delicately crossways, on a band made of 9ct gold and featuring 6 small (0.02ct) diamonds.

The colouring of the sapphires is a very dark blue, in fact, it is so dark it almost looks black, but I think that it works, creating a wonderful contrast between the gold of the band and the silver around the diamonds.

The great thing about this dark colour is that it makes it perfect to wear with almost any outfit, and you could totally rock a little black dress while wearing this ring.

This ring comes in at £79.99, and I have had a lot of compliments when people have seen it, with so many asking where it came from and being surprised by the cost when I told them. I wish I could capture a more ‘life-like’ image of it as it really is, so much nicer than the pictures let on.

When it comes to wearing, I feel totally secure in the knowledge that the ring is well-made, nothing is going to fall out of it, and it can take the brutality of everyday life, so I don’t have to worry about the odd knock or bang and just getting on with things.
