Woods of Windsor – Pomegranate & Hibiscus Range: Review
When I was contacted by Woods of Windsor and asked if I would like to try out there new for 2014 range, of Pomegranate & Hibiscus, I jumped at the chance of trying something I hadn’t before and with it coming from such a well-known name as Woods of Windsor, I just knew it would be something special.
If you have never heard of Woods of Windsor, their routes started back in 1770, as a local apothecary that served not only the local community of Windsor, but royal visitors as well.
Fast forward to 1970 when Roger and Kathleen Knowles, acquired a rundown pharmacy called Woods Pharmacy as they went through over two decades of old recipe and prescription books as well as medical artefacts all left behind by the previous management, they found some of the books contained recipes for perfumery products, which gave them the idea to start producing products using these original formulas.
The brand quickly took off and by 1974 was being sold in stores such as Harrods and Liberty’s. Between then and now a lot has happened to the brand, including a relaunch in 2013, which saw the introduction of the new fresh designs you see on the Woods of Windsor products today. Even now the brand is still run from the original pharmacy in Windsor, which now acts as the brands headquarters and flagship store.
Woods of Windsor – Pomegranate & Hibiscus Range.
I was kindly sent the bath & shower gel and hand & body lotion from the range, both of which I couldn’t wait to get trying, as soon as the landed on my doorstep.
Pomegranate & Hibiscus Moisturising Bath & Shower Gel
Each item in the range contains ingredients that make it just perfect for its job, the bath and shower gel in particular contains added Vitamin E to help leave your skin smooth, soft and protected. In use the gel is quite jelly like in texture, which works with the design of the bottle allowing you to easily dispense just enough, to wash a section of your body at a time. The fragrance is fresh, fruity and floral and hits you with its scent as soon as you dispense it, though thankfully not in an overpowering way. The gel lathers well and is easily washed off – leaving your skin feeling clean and moisturised with a slight fragrance – a complete pleasure to use.
If you want to try the Pomegranate & Hibiscus Moisturising Bath & Shower Gel yourself you can buy it online from the Woods of Windsor website where it costs £8.50 for 350ml.
Pomegranate & Hibiscus Moisturising Hand & Body Lotion
The hand and body lotion offers a wonderfully complementary product to the bath and shower gel, this time containing keratin to help strength nails and shea butter and grape seed oil to help smooth, nourish and moisturise the skin. It offers of course the same fruity, floral scent as the bath and shower gel, meaning you could use these as laying products to help ramp up the scent if you wanted (the range actually included a perfume as well). The lotion has so far been easy to dispense from the pump bottle and offers a silky luxurious cream that is quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving behind a greasy residue and leaves your skin feeling well looked after for a number of hours after application.
You can buy the lovely Pomegranate & Hibiscus Moisturising Hand & Body Lotion from the Woods of Windsor website where it costs £8.75 for 350ml.
I think both of these products make for a wonderfully luxurious pampering session and are great, both to have in the home just because, or I personally would be over the moon to receive them as a gift.
What do you think of these two products, have you ever tried anything from Woods of Windsor?

I like how you described the scent as fresh, fruity and floral, I love body washes that smell like that! After checking out their site I’m curious to try the Lavender and Cedar Woods Bath & Shower Gels.
Got a prezzy of their lavender EDT a while back – brilliant for spraying on pillows, sheets for a good night’s sleep. Just back from a deep tissue massage & she used lavender oils – so relaxing. All the chores are done, it’s pouring rain so might crawl under the duvet for a bit!
