5 Ways to Change Up Your Kitchen
Last year Ash and I had our kitchen renovated and it has made a huge difference.
We have ended up with more space to put things, great worksurface space, while still having extra space for a dishwasher.
I have to say having a dishwasher has changed things so much.
Anyway enough of my rambles – here are 5 Ways to Change Up Your Kitchen.
Accessories
Accessories can make all the difference to the look and feel of a room.
The kitchen is a room where you can really play with them as well.
Afterall, think about it. You have the choice of using appliances to bring in colours, as well as using plates, cups, bowls and all those other kitchen must-haves.
I personally have some interesting forms of art on the wall, from my toast picture made to look like a dog, to a carved chopping board.
Paint
There is so much fun to be had when it comes to choosing what to do with the kitchen, you can really go for quirky and different ideas. So why not go a bit out there with the paint.
There is no harm in making feature walls, you could even use blackboard paint to make for an extra useful area to write reminders for yourself and family.
Kitchen Worktops
If you are after making a bit of a bigger change then you could look at your kitchen worktops.
Styles such as the Silestone Worktops are absolutely beautiful, long lasting and hard wearing.
While places like The Marble Store stock a huge host of different work surface options and changing this large part of the room can really make a huge change to the whole look and feel of this important home room.
Tiles
Something else which can be a bit of a task, but can make a huge difference to your kitchen area, is changing the tiles.
You can really play around with this area as well. Making it as fun and funky as you want.
After all, there are some really amazing tile ideas out there!
So why not bring in a touch of your own personality.
Doors or Handles
Last but not least is perhaps one of the most common things to do when you looking to alter your kitchen.
Changing those cupboard doors. In fact, even just the handles can make such a difference to your room.
What’s more, if you really want to change your kitchen cupboard doors. However, can’t buy new ones, you could always look to paint them instead.

It is always a good way to freshen up any room isn’t it!
This has certainly given me the idea to change my worktop as I think it would revitalise my whole kitchen!
I’m a huge fan of simple fixes like you mentioned. Adding better handles goes a long way, or even deciding to paint your cabinets can make a huge difference if you don’t want to make a huge investment in remodeling.
Most definitely there is little things you can do which obviously you can always call for help with too!
I just moved in to my new house so I won’t be changing anything any time soon. But I do agree with the paint. That is something that could really change up a space. Depending on the mood that you’re aiming for You could easily have a cheery kitchen with a lighter paint. 🙂

These tips are all really helpful, as I’m actually in the process of renovating my kitchen! I bought a “doer upper” house in December last year, and not a great deal has been done yet – but I am hoping to make more progress soon! x

I cannot wait to change up my kitchen! It’s definitely outdated and could use new cabinets and counter tops! We want to re-do everything! In the meantime I have been switching out decor and accessories!

These are some great tips and ideas for renovating a kitchen. I believe painting the walls white make it look so much nice and airy.

Love this! I really want to update my kitchen, but there’s only so much you can do when you’re renting. I desperately need a dishwasher though, I’ve literally been dreaming about it! Haha
It’s hard when you rent isn’t it – but there are a few things you can play around with thankfully.
I am loving the idea of adding plants to brighten up the kitchen. it makes it look so fresh.

We have been talking about sprucing up the kitchen here. I never thought about the fixtures in the cupboards. For us, it’s the dreary paint on the walls
Therre are some awful paints people choose aren’t there! It is amazing what a difference changing that can make.
There are so many great ways to change things up to create different moods and often very cheaply. I love changing my kitchen up for different seasons by adding autumnal vibes eg little pumpkins etc. I also love that by changing a colour scheme you can change the look as well x

Paint definitely changes things up, good or bad depending on the color. And oh yes, we love our dishwasher too.

I love that these tips allow me to change up the look without spending a fortune! I’ve heard of the wonders paint can do, I’m just so afraid that I will not do a nice job with it, but gotta start somewhere, right?!
It is amazing the difference, you can only try and see what happens, you never know you might have a hidden painting talent.
If I had my own kitchen, I’d go full on accessories! Plants, decors, candles and others! But mainly plants I guess!

Comfy and cosy is great for a kitchen I think sometimes so much time is spent in there you want it to be yours.
I agree with all of these but especially with number 5….a friend of mine recently changed the handles on all of her kitchen cabinets and drawers and it completely changed the whole look of her kitchen! Genius!!

Small things really do make a huge difference in the kitchen. I painted ours in a different color and it looks so much more open now.

Honestly we had a new one put in last year and it drove me insane everything in the bungalow was covered in yuck!
Love these inexpensive changes to the kitchen looks extra ordinary. I like the idea of putting doors or handles.
Handles can really make such a difference and they don’t have to cost a lot!
While counters can be expensive, I like that these ideas are all more economical, because kitchens can be so expensive! I really want to paint my kitchen and redo some of the decor.
They can cost a lot can’t they which is a shame but if you don’t want a full makeover well worth looking into.

Small kitchens can be a pain – I’ve had some tiny ones in my time, but the changes they made in this one make me realise it’s about utalising the space the best you can.
My kitchen desperately needs a good revamp! Some new counters sound real nice right about now!

I wish I had space in my kitchen for a bigger work space. My kitchen is small and hard to cook in with others.
It is hard when you have a kitchen like that, I’ve had my fair share of small kitchens, one I couldn’t even fit a freezer (or fridge freezer in).

What a great timing! We are doing kitchen renovation! Kitchen is my favorite part of the house and I want it bright and clean looking. I guess a clean looking paint will do the trick

Oh, this makes me want to cry – we were a military family, but always ended up with a house that needed flipping. The last house we flipped was my favorite hands-down, because we tore out the entire kitchen, and I hand-picked EVERYTHING in it – it was organized for ME, because I loved cooking and baking, and made the best possible use of space. Boy do I miss my spice drawers next to the stove! Great tips!

i painted my kitchen this summer, all i did was give it a fresher white color, but it made such a huge difference. can’t wait to find time to update the cabinets too!

Everything you mentioned here is exactly what I would like to do in my kitchen. I would like to update it so that we can enjoy our own personality in the kitchen. I cannot wait to tile in our kitchen.

These are great suggestions. I hired contractors to remodel my kitchen two years ago and still have issues regarding what to do with the walls. I’ve looked for wall art but ended up putting one of my own paintings on the wall and it doesn’t look too bad.

You chose some beautiful kitchens to highlight. I would love to do the carerra marble on my counters but mine are perfectly functional so I won’t add the expense to my household.
It is hard when you don’t really need it isn’t it – ours needed rewiring so to make that happen it seemed the easiest way, mind you I think the whole place could do with it in all honesty.
I need to change up my kitchen. It’s kind of dark and blah right now. We do want to re-do the flooring and cabinets at some point. We just need to win the lottery.

Changing out the hardware or paint is quick easy change. Appliances are great way to change it out

It is amazing what just a little paint can do to really change a kitchen! We plan on redoing ours soon and paint and new cabinets will be the first things on the list to change!
Paint can change everything can’t it! I am always amazed how different things can look after a paint update.
I am all about changing up the accessories. It’s an easy way to really change the look of the room and if you look hard, you can usually get them pretty cheap.
It is so fun to do as well – but then I do have an accessory addiction I think LOL.
