5 Ways to Get People to Interact More with Your Blog
Do you find it hard to get people interacting with your blog? Would you love to know what your readers are thinking but you’re unsure about how to get them answering those burning questions? Well, I’ve put together 5 tips I think might help you get people talking on your blog.
5 Ways to Get People to Interact More with Your Blog
Ask Questions
Think about how you end a post if you ask your readers a question they are more likely to think up a response to you. After all, if you end with a blunt finishing line it can often seem like there is nothing more to add, while a question can easily help get the conversation flowing.
Set up a Quiz
If you are looking for feedback or just wondering if your blog has got people interested. A quiz could offer you the answer. This user-friendly quiz maker can help you learn more about the people who are frequenting your website, allowing you to tailor content better to their needs and in turn, offering more of a conversation starter.
Utilise Social Media
A high proportion of us frequent social media multiple times a day and if we see something pop up on our timeline we think friends would be interested in we share it. I’ve often heard blog readers say they drop a comment on the social media share of a post rather than on the post itself, as it’s just their way of connecting with people. So when someone tweets you, tweet them back!
Make Your Blog User-Friendly
Remember those quizzes up there, Typeform can also help you find what people do and don’t like about your website. So why not make up a form allowing people to leave your anonymous comments about what they think of your blog?
For instance, you may be surprised to learn while people love social media, they aren’t so keen on using it to comment on your blog. And most people certainly don’t want to have to sign up to yet another service to leave a comment. So make sure you turn on guest comments, if you need to moderate first, you might just you suddenly get an increase in replies.
Write Good Content
This one is probably obvious to most, but it surprises me the number of bloggers who still aren’t producing good content. By that I mean people still don’t do simple checks on spelling and grammar (and before anyone starts with but I’m not very good, hey neither am I! I’m dyslexic). I ask family and friends to check things for silly (and not so silly) mistakes before I hit publish. As I’m very aware that if the first sentence of any post reads badly, no one is going to read on.
So there you have 5 ways to get people to interact with your blog more. Have I forgotten any tips you think are a must include?

This post was written in collaboration with Typeform however all opinions and thoughts are my own.

Content is always key. If they like what they need and they gain value from it, they’ll surely come back. Keep them engage by interacting with them.
It really is such an important part of any blog, we need to make sure we are always thinking about what we put out there.
These are great tips I utilize everyday with my blog. I find most my engagement from my social media accounts but I’m moving my blog into a new direction so I’m hoping it will help increase engagement on my blog!
Social media is such a big thing, I think everyone logs onto it at least once a day so getting yourself out there is a big thing.
These are great ideas. I focus on great content…and I try to ask questions, but sometimes I forget! I need to be better about that.
Good luck! I think it is a habit to get into, once you have it down it comes as normal.
This is always a struggle! I know that there is a lot more people that read my blog then comment on it, I always try to ask questions and be engaging. I have noticed that people on my blogs social media are more conversational so I guess the experience of interaction is still there.
It is hard isn’t it – so many people read but don’t say anything these days which is a shame.
Utilizing social media definitely helps with getting people to interact with my blog too. I have started to use Instagram stories for the ‘swipe up feature’ to direct people to my posts and it definitely helps with click throughs to my blog! x
I have to admit I’ve not tried the swipe up feature, it is definitely something I need to look in at some point though.
Asking questions is a big one that usually draws people into a conversation. Wonderful tips on how to get more people to interact with a blog.
I am glad people think they are useful the question thing is so good but some people just don’t think about.
I find that asking questions and having polls is one of the best way to boost engagement. Quality content is most important, however. Because if you aren’t writing something interesting, no one will bother with it.
Quality content is a must, you can have a great title but if you don’t get that content right people will click away.
One of my main tips is to be consistent- like know what you stand for and who you write for. I also agree with you about the write good content point! Like it amazes me how many bloggers don’t focus on content and just put something out there. Great post and some really good advice in here!
I am glad you like it. It really is a big thing, to make sure you are consistent, I don’t have a niche and I do jump between topics often but I hope I am consistent in other ways.
Great tips! I think writing good content is always key, nobody returns to a poorly written blog!
Exactly, it surprises me how many people don’t realise that. If you don’t have anyone to look over it for you I think even just running it through word can be a big help.
These are great tips Sarah, I do wish someone to preview my content before I hit publish as I do occasionally have some typos in my posts
I know there are bloggers who will do it for a small price if you need someone to.
Maybe I’ll add some quizzes. I think people are so busy in life….its hard for them to stop and comment. They read and leave. But I’d definitely like more engagement.
I think people comment a lot less than they used to when I first started, which is a shame.
I’m curious about the quiz option. I will have to test this out and see how it goes! -bryanna skye
They are really fun to put together definitely worth trying and you can ask whatever you want.
There are some great tips here, it is often hard to get people to interact with your blog, asking questions is always a great way to get people talking x
It really is hard these days I think we are just all so much more busy we read and don’t think hey it might be nice to say we liked the post.
These are great tips. I think it’s good to ask questions and write more personal posts that resonate with people as well.
Personal posts are always good, it makes you feel like you aren’t so alone sometimes as well.
I have gotten a lot of interaction on my blog from the beginning. I love talking to people, so I always respond to people’s comments and then I go back to their blogs and check out what they’re up to and comment <3 I also ask lots of questions at the end of each blog post because as I said, I love talking to people, thus I love conversation!
Comments are awesome! I’m not surprised your posts get a lot of interaction they are such fun!
This is definitely an area I need to work on, but I always feel like because I’m just giving an account of my experience, rather than reviewing or offering tips, it’s not relevant. I do get a handful of likes on social media. Definitely out of my comfort zone but I will have a rethink. Very useful. Thank you ??
Aww you can do it! Those likes are good – it’s obviously resonating with people 🙂
I agree that a simple comment form is enough. I usually stay away from blogs that ask me to login or create account in order to comment. I understand they are trying to reduce spam, but there are great plugins that do just that.
Most definitely I recently had to change over to jetpack comments and I was a bit loathed to do it as I loved the simplicity of just having a name / email / url but with it showing it other users details I had to make the change, but I made sure to keep the guest option open at least.
Great ideas. I agree with each of these especially asking questions. Questions spark conversation and I love reading readers responses to questions posed on my posts.
They really do it is something I think every blogger needs to try and think using at the bottom of a post.
I think utilizing social media is such a wonderful way to get traction and attention on your blog. Facebook works well for me!
I have to admit I don’t do well with Facebook though I’ve had times where it has gone mad, I think I need to get better at it.
Yep! I agree with all of these! If you want people to comment, ask a question for them to respond to!
Great post, thanks for sharing!
These are brilliant ideas! I’ll definitely be taking these on board to see how my readers feel about my blog etc.
Aww I am glad you like the ideas I hope it helps you find out some things 🙂
Choosing the right topic for your target audience will definitely urge them to comment. I think these are good suggestions as well. Asking questions is really going to help.
Most definitely if you can niche yourself (something I have never managed) and get to know your audience so well you can go so far.
Thank you for these tips! I do try to do a lot of these. Except the quiz bit. It’s just not my thing.
Hey not everything is going to work for everyone 🙂
These are all great ideas. I have taken to asking questions and it really does work!
It really can make a difference giving something for people to start talking about.
