  1. Florida is actually one of the places that I am planning to go. I planned a cruise trip next year the set sail from one of the ports in Florida. I am planning to visit Disneyland too while I am in the area anyway.

  2. Great ideas. We rented a villa in Portugal one year. It had it’s own private swimming pool and air con. It was fantastic. And you get to know the locals better, without masses of tourists.

  3. I’ve always wanted to visit Greece! It would be a really cool place to visit. These are great ideas!

    1. I hope you get to see Greece one day it seems like a place filled with so much history and culture.

    1. Oh wow you lucky thing I do love the south coast, it’s my dream location to live in the UK haha!

  5. I’ve never had a villa holiday as such, although we have family who have their own villa where they live in Spain. I guess I like the luxury of having your food cooked for you in an hotel.

    1. Ash was saying he knows people who have their own villa in Spain I guess it is nice to just be able to get out and go when you want.

    1. I hope you get to go on a villa holiday one day they definitely look like they would be such a wonderfully relaxing place to stay.

  6. Oh my gosh, yes to Thailand! We didn’t go to Phuket as it can be very touristy in the season, but it does look beautiful. We spent a few weeks in Changmai up north and I dream about going back every day! The food, the people, the scenery – everything is amazing. Let me know if you ever book.

    1. Thailand just looks absolutely amazing. It sounds like you had an awesome time, I will definitely be in touch if I get so lucky!

  7. All lovely ideas for a villa holiday. I would also suggest Bali in Indonesia, an exotic location with some idyllic stay options.

  8. Thailand is truly on my travel bucketlist. My friends and I are planning a trip around going there and of course we want a nice villa to enjoy our vacay.

    1. It does seem like a great way to spend your time, I love that it is somewhere you could stay iwth a large group.

  12. We love staying in villas when we travel, as it’s a home away from home. That’s great especially when you have kids.

    1. It really does seem to offer that doesn’t it, hotels just aren’t quite as relaxing sometimes with all the noise around you.

    1. It does offer that extra bit of freedom doesn’t it and I love you can add in things like your own private pool.

    1. Don’t they just I think they would be my favourite type of holiday, being able to have your own space – perfect.

  13. I’ve been to Florida, Italy and France, but I’m looking forward to traveling to Thailand and Greece. It would be fun to travel with a group and rent a fabulous villa at any of these gorgeous locations. 🙂

    1. It would be amazing wouldn’t it but you don’t even need a bit group, some villas are just 2 bedrooms 🙂

  14. I’ve already been to a few of the places on this list, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity, they were amazing! Thailand would certainly be my first choice for where to go next.

    1. It seems like such a lovely place to retire and relax to, I would have loved the ability to just swim as well once upon a time.

  16. As a family of 6 I think we will be hiring a Vila for our first trip abroad next year. It’s so much easier for larger families but also better to have your own space.

    1. It seems like so many people would love to visit Thailand and I really don’t blame them I would love to as well!

    1. It is nice isn’t it, I love hotels but a villa just seems like it would be so much more relaxing.

  18. I love renting vacation villas on our annual summer trips to Florida. I’d love to visit Thailand and Greece one day as well.

    1. There is something about a villa the more I think about it the more I don’t ever want to stay anywhere else.

  19. The next time we go on holiday we’re going to go on a villa holiday. We just did the package resort holiday and it definitely wasn’t for us!

    1. It doesn’t have to be so expensive, I was really surprised at how much villas can cost yes you get those that cost £1000s but some aren’t bad at all.

  23. Greece is my dream since I was a little girl. I would love to go there soon! But my son always wants to go to Disney, so I visited Florida so many times. Italy is also on my list.

  24. I have never heard of Cickstay but looks quite useful. Thailand looks awesome and is #1 in my wishlist. Hopefully next year is the year I touch down in Thailand!

  26. All of those places seem like a perfect getaway. Reading the list though I got excited when I saw Italy. The food is the best part I would say.

  28. Both Italy and France are very high on my travel bucket list and staying in a hostel is absolutely out of the question. A villa sounds lovely, especially if it offers a full kitchen since I would want to cook using local ingredients.

    1. It would be amazing wouldn’t it a perfect home from home with all those home comforts you need.

  29. I would love to stay at some sort of villa in a snowy place for the holidays. Of course, I would also miss my house, so maybe at Thanksgiving instead.

    1. It is an absolutely beautiful place to visit isn’t it, a villa over looking the sea would be the dream.

    1. Most definitely have a look as there are some beautiful villas out there and many have some gorgeous extras.

  38. Been to Florida and Greece and did the islands as well. Italy is on my list to visit next. Want to see Vatican City and travel down the coast and go to the boot. We just returned from England, Ireland and Iceland and had a wonderful time.
