4 Garden Additions for Summer
Summer is coming, or at least for a couple of days this week it has felt like it.
I even complained I was too hot one day, can you believe it!
Each summer I’ve looked forward to getting out in the garden and watching Sal and the Pig Pair play. However, this year we just have Sock. So while it will be different I am sure we will still love watching him popcorn in joy.
If like me you are looking forward to the summer ahead, here are 4 garden additions for summer I think you might love.

Garden Bench or Chairs.
We have a mix of seating items in our garden. From our bench with a lift up table in the middle, to a concrete owl seat which I love.
That is perhaps the most fun thing about garden seating, these days there is so much choice.
From tables and chairs to bean bags there is something to fit everyone who likes to spend some time outdoors.

Shed.
Honestly, I don’t know what we would do without our shed these days. It is just perfect for keeping the overspill from the bungalow in.
As Solid Sheds show, there is a whole host of different designs and colours to choose from.
What’s more, if you can even really push the boat out with a pent shed.
These gorgeous sheds and summer houses are perfect for storage or as a little space to get away in, for instance, one of the summer houses would be perfect as a craft area!

BBQ.
If you are looking to throw a get-together or two over the summer months, then how about treating yourself to a nice BBQ.
There are so many different options out there, no matter if you are the person who just throws some burgers and sausages onto the grill, or likes to go all out.

Flower Bed or Vegetable Patch.
There is nothing quite as wonderful as watching things you have planted come to life.
So if you have a patch of ground just calling out to be made into something new, why not spend some time making it into the plant patch of your dreams?
You might just find you have green fingers you didn’t know about.
However, I would love to know what you think is a must for a summer garden?

Enjoying garden or backyard siting and sipping a drink and bbq is must during the summer time. I love those garden bunches looks really nice and comfy.
It is just the best part of summer isn’t it!
These are beautiful ideas for additions! We just need to work on getting our garden itself going, I’m no green thumb over here. 🙂
I have to admit I don’t either – I do try but I’m not good at all.
I look over this post in awe, I live in an apartment and would love a garden <3 <3
Aww I hope you get a garden one day, it is nice to have some space to go out into.
We love spending time outdoors and have a veg patch and lots of flowers and shrubs. Love the garden bench gives a lovely pop of colour.
There is something wonderful about spending time in the great outdoors isn’t there.
I love the idea of adding a bench to the garden. It becomes so a lovely accent and a great place to relax and enjoy the hard work you’ve done.
It is such a nice way to be able to sit outside and relax.
I think a seating area is a must if you have a garden. I would like a small pond if I ever have a garden again. I think it would be relaxing looking at the fish and seeing all the pond life
I think having a pond would be lovely, and amazing seeing all the creatures that come and visit it as well.
Our summer garden has to have a table and chairs, as we like to eat outside most nights when the weather is warm.
It is nice having an area you can just go out to isn’t it.
I love summer for these! I love to spend a lot of time outdoors. Thanks for sharing these ideas!
No problem at all 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful time this summer.
I wish I had a garden to be able to do a lot of this stuff! Although, I think a garden essential is 100% a BBQ
There is nothing like a good BBQ when the summer hits is there.
I am hoping you are right – that when I eventually give gardening a shot I will find that I have green fingers!! Fingers crossed. I do actually love gardens though so I spend a lot of time visiting gardens or garden cafes at this time of year when there is a huge amount of flowers in bloom and “new green” to be seen.
Good luck I hope you have green fingers and are able to build a beautiful garden.
I’ve already started with the garden but this year I’m doing more shrubs than flowers. A few tubbed bedding plants but that’s it. My garden is pretty much how I like it – just need a few more Japanese acers and I’ll be happy. Perhaps some new potatoes and spring onions in recycling bags, too.
It sounds like you are going to have some gorgeous garden to relax and unwind in at some point.
We have a little concrete slab in our backyard and a lot of grass. I wish we had some trees because it’s not very inviting. I love trees! But still, I’m hoping we can use it more and eat lunch on the patio and enjoy the outdoors as much as we can.
I hope you manage to get your garden into an area you love spending time within.
We have been wanting to get a new garden shed. It would be nice to have something to store our garden tools in.
They are really such a useful thing to have, I’m not sure what we would do without ours.
These are all great suggestions! We could not get through summer without a grill. In fact, we have two, a small charcoal model and a larger gas version.
It sounds like you are the BBQ place to be when summer comes!
I wish we had a garden area. For now I’ll settle for my husband getting the backyard straightened up.
Aww I hope you get your garden changed into a place you like being at some point.
It has been a lovely week weather wise, my partner put his greenhouse up yesterday as he has tomato plants growing, its only a plastic one but ideal for now, we moved in in august so our garden is a blank canvas at the moment, although same as with the decorating because we need to move to accommodate my partner’s ill health we dont want to do much to it xx
It is fantastic when you can grow your own isn’t it!
I am getting my yard ready for summer. I love the look of benches in the yard.
Good luck with getting your yard ready for summer I hope it goes well for you!
I love these ideas. It makes me wish I had a garden. I do want a bench for the backyard at least.
There is something wonderful about having a garden, although it is of course a lot of work at times.
I wish I had a garden so I could have a shed! You’ve listed some great ideas here, summer’s on the way!
They are such a useful thing to have around, we have so much stuff and such a small bungalow it really helps.
What great ideas! I love the pop of color on that one bench you shared. I don’t have a garden, but I do have a patio and garden box. I think some of these same concepts can apply.
It is so pretty isn’t it – my bench is so plan in comparison lol.
This is a timely article because we just went out back to see what we need. Your ideas are so good so we will use them.
Good luck with getting your garden put into great condition!
These are all great ideas. I am so happy the weather is FINALLY nice, it makes me think of sitting outside, eating from the grill, and lots of salads. Thanks for sharing!
The weather has made a change in the last week or so hasn’t it! What a difference.
If only the beautiful days finally arrive I can’t wait to do all these things, especially the bbq, to enjoy the days outdoors!
It is so nice to be able to just get outside and relax isn’t it.
I love watching all my flowers bloom in the garden so having pretty flowers is a must for me. Of course, a beautiful, inviting seating area and a grill are also must haves at my house.
It is so nice seeing them come to life isn’t it with all the colours making things look beautiful.
I should really make more of an effort with my garden, especially because I love throwing BBQs in the summer. I need to invest in some decent garden furniture/seating, because at the moment I tend to drag the kitchen chairs outside and use those!
I hope you manage to get your garden looking just how you want in time for summer.
