10 Ways to Say I Love You without Saying a Word
Love, it’s a wonderful thing. Telling those in your world that you love them may sound like enough, but have you ever heard of the saying, “actions speak louder than words”? Love is an emotion that is usually appreciated most when you show it through kind gestures.
In most relationships one is showing their love before uttering those words, it’s in those small acts of kindness that our heart warms up the most to our partner. There are over a million ways to show I love you rather than saying it, but today we will focus on just 10 ways to say I love you without saying a word.
- Leave Notes – printer paper, post-it notes, small journal pad paper, it doesn’t matter what paper you use, just leave notes for your partner wherever you can. You know best where your partner will see these little notes, so occasionally drop a little note near the coffee pot, their desk or on the bathroom mirror for them to wake up feeling immediate love as they spot that little love note.
- Do Something For Them – if you are living together, married or even just dating you can do little tasks to help alleviate stress for your partner. Nothing is sexier than a man doing dishes, seriously. When you take time to do something for your partner it radiates love and makes their heart glow for you.
- Listen to Them – ask about your partners day, about something that may be worrying them; we all have anxiety about various things and aren’t always great at being boisterous about those woes. Take a moment to ask what’s on your partner’s mind and then listen, truly listen to what they have to say.
- Buy Something Nostalgic – have they mentioned something from their childhood that they just wish they could replace? Is there a favorite little something that brings a nostalgic feeling for your partner? Why not head to an antique store to search for a little piece of nostalgia and gift it to your partner.
- Give a Small Gift – flowers, candy or a card are always a fantastic way to show your love to someone. Make sure these small gifts happen spontaneous, not on a regular basis, so as to keep this a romantic gesture rather than something that becomes routine and loses its appeal.
- Write a Message in the Fog – when done with a shower or while your partner is taking a shower, write a little message in the fog on the mirror that the shower has created. This is a sweet little way to make your partner feel loved in a cute manner.
- Ask how their Day Was – make sure to ask how your partner’s day was every time they return home from work, this shows that you care about their life outside of the home. When you show your partner that you care about their needs, desires and feelings they feel more loved by you.
- Surprise them at Lunch Break – does your partner take a lunch break at the same time every day? Do you work close enough together to surprise them at lunch break? Show up to your partner’s work with a bagged lunch, this shows creativity and spontaneity which will totally make your partner realize how much you love them.
- Wake up With Your Partner – whether it is for work or to tend to kids, every chance you can make sure to wake up with your partner. This says that their sleep matters too and that you are willing to give up a little bit of sleep just to spend a little time with them or help make tending to kids easier for them.
- Make Breakfast in Bed – last but not least, you can certainly show a huge bit of love for your partner by making them breakfast in bed. Nothing screams I love you more than a nice, home cooked breakfast in bed on a Sunday morning.
It really only takes a tiny piece of your time to show someone you love them without speaking a word. From acts of kindness to leaving little notes or buying something to let them have that nostalgic feeling, there is nothing better and more exciting for your relationship than to exhibit small acts of love to rekindle those fluttering feelings from the first date.
