X Muse Vodka Review

X Muse Vodka
While Scotland is known for its spirit-making, it isn’t normally vodka. However, X Muse (pronounced Tenth Muse) is here to show you just how well they can make it.
Offering a unique barley-blended vodka (the first from Scotland) it draws on both traditional and new methods of making spirits. X Muse uses two varieties of heritage barley within its blend and also draws water from the ancient aquifer at the heart of Jupiter Artland. It is partly due to this exceptionally pure water that X Muse has its flavour. While the bottle draws its look from the art piece Cells of Life which was once a part of the estate.
You may have realised that the name links to Greek Mythology, where there were 9 muses who sparked art and creativity. The tenth muse however is unnamed, unknown, representing all that is unseen and unknown. For others, she is seen as the muse above all muses who pushes us towards perfect harmony and balance.
It is from these ideas that X Muse sees its vodka, from the writing hidden under its wax seal which says; Plura Latent, Quam Patent (more is hidden than revealed), to its ingredients and flavour working in perfect harmony.
Incredibly X Muse took three years to create, although when you look through its story, the amount of thought that has gone into the bringing together of the blend, the art and the creativity behind it, it is of little surprise.
What We Thought of X Muse.
I think I’ve mentioned before that I don’t drink alcohol. However, I have a few people I can call on when I need alcohol reviewing. In fact, they have turned into quite a pair of connoisseurs over the years. I have even been asked lately when the next bottle was to be expected. Luckily they didn’t have to wait too long as X Muse was on the way.
A crystal clear vodka, which is perfect for drinking alone, or mixing X Muse really offers something different. With a smooth texture and aromatic flavour, it is one to not be missed.
If you would like an idea to taste, I’ve been told that serving it with a slice of lemon, chilled sparkling elderflower pressé and topped off with a small dash of peach liqueur is a must.
