It’s coming on to the middle of September, Christmas is already out there, I’ve seen adverts and items hitting the shop. (Have you checked out BeautyQueenUK’s advent list yet?)
So what better time to kick off a competition than right now!
Each year, the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham plays host to The Festive Gift Fair.
The Festive Gift Fair offers four days of festive fun and frolics and the perfect occasion to pick up a festive gift or two for friends and family.
Believe me, there really is something for all the family, especially when it comes to Christmas shopping. It’s something we like to do every year and of recent times we’ve even hired a scooter meaning I can make my own way around the show.
There’s a Christmassy atmosphere with live music throughout the day and so much fabulous Christmas shopping.
For those who are worried about what might be on offer, well even Ash finds himself amazed at the stalls that catch his imagination!
If you are wondering when and how the gift fair happens, then let me tell you:
This year it will, of course, be live at the NEC in Birmingham, opening daily between 9:30 am – 5 pm from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th of November.
Prices for the show start in advance for adults at £9 for Thursday and Friday and £11 for Saturday and Sunday, with under 5s being allowed in free and 5-16-year-olds costing £4. This year, if like me you mostly turn up in the afternoon you can buy an afternoon (after 1:30pm) only tickets for £6 or £8 depending on the day!
It is worth noting that if you need to buy four or more tickets you can buy 3 and get 1 free for Thursday or Friday when buying online.
This year promises over 300 stalls, 100 of which will be from new vendors! Perfect for a fun filled day Christmas shopping.
Santa himself will be there, while the Grinch will be well Grinching! The Stilt Jazz Band will be one to be seen, while you never quite know what the pantomime dame may get up to!
It is worth keeping your eyes out for the food hall which features a whole host of yummy food and drink, including chocolate, puddings, preserves, cheese and even a hog roast!
If you love a good bakery, then keep your eyes out of Hindley’s Bakery who are new this year and are a small Lichfield based bakery. Who make the MOST delicious bread, biscuits, cakes and tarts. If you are stuck on what cake to try I completely suggest the apple and almond cake IT IS DIVINE!
While brands such as Magical Story, The Perfume Shop, the Cheshire Cheese Company, Condessa Welsh Liqueurs and East 2 Eden. and so many more will be sharing with you their best Christmas presents and stocking fillers for this year.

I love this event!!!…its so festive and I love being able to pick up gifts for friends and family that they wouldnt have seen before, you get to check the quality and ask for more information from the people selling them. Hope they have the huge snow globe this year

I love the festive gift fair because it’s close to home and it’s a fabulous place to visit with my hubby to get loads of new decorating ideas. We usually go on the train because there is a railway station at the NEC and there are plenty of trains every hour.
So much Christmas gifts in one place I’m always running out of ideas for Christmas this would be amazing to go and see what the fair has to offer my partner would certainly love this ❤️

I love the show to get unusual presents for “people who have most things” It gives me ideas to make my own or purchase on the day. My friends always comment I buy such different items they would never think to look for.
