Present Ideas for a Baby Shower
As someone who doesn’t have children, I often find it hard to know what to gift a friend or family member who is expecting.
However, there are a whole host of ideas out there on the internet, to make it easier to buy the perfect gift.
Here are just a few, which might be worth thinking over.

Car Seat
One thing every new parent needs as they leave the hospital is a car seat.
You could look to pool together with other attendants to come up with a nice little sum of money towards the seat of the parents choice.
To get an idea of the sort of thing on offer why not check out Kiddies Kingdom’s stylish range of car seats for sale.
You could even look to buy accessories for their new car seat, such as a car seat cover.
Food
This is an IOU type gift and something for after the baby has arrived.
Those days are going to full of so much to do and remember, that making sure your loved one doesn’t have to think about food for themselves can be a big thing.
You could pop around with food you have made, order them a supermarket shop, or there are companies out there which will deliver ready meals just perfect for those days after the little one arrives.
Dinnerware sets for babies also make excellent gift ideas for baby showers. It is not only practical, but it is also a nice way to welcome the new arrival.
There are many tableware sets for babies available that are specifically designed for babies’ needs. They usually come with everything that the baby will need, including plates, bowls, cups, and utensils.
The tableware sets are usually made from materials that are safe for babies to use, such as BPA-free plastic or stainless steel. They are also often dishwasher safe, which makes them easy to clean.
Another advantage of tableware sets is that they can be used for a long time. As the baby grows, they can still use the same tableware set. This makes it a very cost-effective gift idea.

Hamper
If you like making up hampers then why no make one for the new parents and baby!
You could include essentials such as nappies, a small toy and clothes, alongside some items for the parents to be.
Perhaps a box of chocolates to enjoy once their little one has fallen asleep. Or even just some general home items, which are essentials but easily forgotten.
Keepsake Box
Time is going to pass quickly once the baby has arrived.
So why not gift your friend or family member the perfect place to keep all those memories safe?
From hospital tag to the first outfit, hats, booties and more a keepsake box can be the perfect place to make sure all those memories are safe.

Baby Hand and Foot Printing Kit
If you are after something different to offer up, then how about a hand and footprinting kit.
These lovely ideas offer a way to capture a moment in time forever and allow the recipient to always keep a moment of those tiny baby feet and hands.
What a sweet idea!

I normally buy personalised gifts for the baby involving my name like “Auntie Ani is my favourite Auntie!” Always goes down a hoot
Aww, that is so cute! What a lovely idea.
Baby showers, never been to one, but with the ideas above, i think i would go for the keepsake box, a very good idea, normally if a baby is born i knit booties and mittens
Some great ideas, I like the idea of a hamper. If there is another child/children in the family I like to add something small for them too, so they don’t feel left out.
That’s a good idea! I remember my friends Grandma always buying the siblings something when it was a birthday.
Some good ideas.
What great ideas! It has been a while since I have been to a baby shower, and it is nice to know what gifts are good to give. I love the foot prints 🙂
It is such a cute idea isn’t it – something a bit different.
I like the idea of a hand and foot printing kit. Babies will only be tiny for a short while and having a reminder of that moment is a priceless keepsake.
Most definitely – a bit different but I have a paw print of Sals and it’s so precious.
As a Mum, I agree. There are some great suggestions here. My keepsake boxes are my greatest treasures. I still have both kids cord stumps!
Phew! I’m glad I am looking in the right areas! There is something special about being able to keep hold of those memories.
I have gotten a variety of gifts for friends who are expecting. My favorite was a gift basket full of essentials for baby or a diaper cake with goodies too. When I was pregnant with my third, we got lots of clothes, blankets, diapers and some things off our baby registry .
I think essentials can sometimes be overlooked but they are so important really.
Love these ideas! I think any parent could use a good car seat!
It is a must isn’t it – especially when you need one to leave the hospital.
Thank you for these awesome present ideas and tips. Now it’s easier to choose the present for the baby shower that I will attend next month!
I am glad they have given you some ideas on things to buy.
I got a hamper at my shower. It was so useful.
That is fab, what sort of things did you get in it?
I love all of these ideas. The keepsake box is probably one of my favorites. That is always a great idea for a baby shower.
It is such a cute idea I think and something to make memories with.
I love the idea of a hamper. Some chocolates in there to treat mum too as well as a few essentials for baby
Most definitely you can make it so it works for the whole family.
Such great ideas you listed hear. I find the Baby Hand and Foot Printing Kit a really adorable idea. Love looking at those tiny hands and feet.
It would be such a lovely moment of time captured forever as well in a bit of a different way.
They’re all really good ideas. If buying clothes, go for varied ages otherwise baby will end up with loads more clothes than they can wear for ages 0-3m or 3-6m but nothing for later months.
That’s such a good idea, I’m sure most will go for newborn etc so buying something for after would be a great idea!
I always buy the most useful items like babygrows there are some lovely ones and a gift for mum . I like knitting baby clothes too so a little hand knitted gift is nice
That is such a lovely gift idea – I love handmade things.
I can say it is really hard to gift babies. These helps a lot soothes the stress actually. Baby car seat is my strongest option.
Honestly, I am so bad at gift buying at times haha!
great ideas and all useful for parents with new baby, we got so many gifts and we were so thankful
I’m sure it can really make such a difference in that first couple of months.
I always take something small for the baby that will be useful for the parents, then I buy the main gift for mum. I think she can get a little forgotten about at that time and it’s nice for her to have something to pamper herself with x
I totally agree with you – I think parents can get so forgotten when there is a new baby around!
I love these present ideas for a baby shower. Simple. Short. And sweet. I love baby showers, they really are a fun way to socialize with people you don’t get to see as much, all the while celebrating that expectant mom friend.
It’s such a lovely idea isn’t it – a way to really celebrate with your friend / family member.
Baby Showers are really fun and heartwarming! Thank you for sharing present ideas. I’m sure many can use these
I really hope they get to help some people out 🙂
We have 3 babies due in our family this fall, so I’ve been thinking a lot about gifts. I really like the idea of a foot and hand print preserver. I usually get something for the nursery, like a photo frame or a figurine. Diapers are always most welcome too!
Oh gosh I hope all goes well with the new arrivals into your family! I am glad I’ve given you a new idea.
These are some great ideas! I normally just do a gift card. I never know what they’ll be getting or what they’ve already gotten, so that’s the safest bet for me.
That is such a good idea, I think as with anything there’s always something forgotten!
They are times when it is so hard to buy for a baby shower. This is a great guide. Having to buy these major pieces is hard.
I have to admit I’m so bad at buying for most occasions – I just try my hardest haha!
It’s awesome when friends go in together and purchase large ticket items like a nice car seat. I remember receiving a pretty laundry basket full of practical items like laundry detergent for babies, diapers, baby washcloths, and towels, etc.
Oh wow that is such a lovely thing to have got. I think it can really help can’t it? Especially with something so needed.
At my baby shower I got so many gifts for the baby and I loved them all and was very grateful but my favourite present was a box filled with little pampering things for me.
I bet that was so nice to relax with as well!
I think my favourite thing to buy will always be little baby socks or clothes, just because of the novelty for me now that I only have teenagers in the house ha! I love dinky baby clothes 🙂
Baby socks are so cute aren’t they?!
