Eco-Conscious Periods with DAME
Are you looking for a way to be more eco-conscious when it comes to your periods? Are you wanting to try out reusable products but are unsure where to start and how to go about it? Then let me introduce you to DAME.
DAME

I thought it would be best to let DAME tell you all about what they are looking to do and the changes they want to make:
“We’re on a mission to make periods positive for people and the planet. The period industry is full of plastic, chemicals and stigma. Everyone who bleeds deserves better. That’s why we’ve created comfortable and sustainable alternatives to the outdated, mainstream options. Now the best choice for your body is the best choice for your planet. It’s about bloody time. DAME is here to change that, with comfortable, sustainable alternatives.”
In fact, DAME has made sure they offer a huge range of eco-friendly alternatives which include; pads, pants, tampons (and applicators) as well as storage solutions and accessories to try and make your time of the month easier to bare.
Reusable Pad Set with Dry Bag

If you are looking to start off on the road to sustainable period products, then a good place to start could be with towels. Made with DAMEdry™ technology, they include 5 layers which work together to be fast-wicking and odour-proof.
The Reusable Pad Set includes 4 pieces:
- Liner Pad x 1 ○
- Regular Pad x 1 ○○
- Night Pad x1 ○○○
- Watertight Dry Bag x 1
The Liner Pad comes in at 18.5cm long and is best for very light flows, bladder leaks, spotting and discharge. The Regular Pad is 20.5cm long and absorbs around the equivalent of 1 super tampon (9-12 grams). While the Night Pad is 28 cm long and absorbs around the equivalent of 1 DAME super plus tampon (12-25 grams).
This all comes complete with a watertight dry bag, which means, where ever you maybe you will know your used pad is safe until you can get home and clean it.
A Reusable Pad Set with Dry Bag from DAME comes in at £39.99 and over a 5-year period is proven to help save you money.

It’s all very well being eco-conscious, but am I the only person who finds the whole idea of these rather icky? Perhaps it’s because I grew up at a time when santitary towels were sturday, chunky things that did their job, unlike these thin pads today with stick-down wings! But I’ve enough washing to do already; think I’ll have to pass on adding blood-soaked underwear to the pile!
The Lavender Room Mist for my girlfriend as she struggles sleeping.
The Mini Stain Remover Spray sounds like a great product.

I would like to try the period pants. I have very heavy periods due to my copper coil and have to use night time towels throughout my period. I always worry about leakage, especially at night. I think they would make me feel much more secure.
I’d most like to try the period pants – I’ve never used these before and I don’t particularly like using tampons, but disposable sanitary towels irritate my skin. I feel like period pants could be the perfect alternative.

I Would Love To try the High Waist Period Pants Because I Reckon These Would Be Comfy For When On Your Period
I think this should have been done years ago, in countries where there is No ST to be bought anywhere, I actually asked a lady well what happens, they use likea muslin cloth, or material, and use that and then wash it out and dry and reuse. A member of my family is looking at ways to reduce, the cardboard used in tampons,(some not all) and then get rid of plastic its just looking at the waste you have at that time of the month, and then look and see what you can get rid of by refusing to buy.
I’d love to try the reusable period pads, they look very soft, better on the skin and so much better for the planet too.
I would gift shortie Period Pants in the liner size to my sister.

Reusable products are great, I’d like to try the period pants really handy.
I already use reusable pads and it has saved me a fortune this year, and saves the planet. I no longer have periods, I had a full hysterectomy aged 25 years old (due to endometriosis/fibroids), BUT I have a prolapsed bladder with incontinence. So I use up to 3 pads per day, and they work great for that too! I use the night time pads as they are bigger and more absorbent, so that would be my choice from DAME , more night time pads!
The period pants look great – and the wheat bag would be fab too! Lots of great products!
I can safely say that at my current age I have no interest in these products
My days for these products are done but a great idea
I would like to try the cotton tampons and the reusable applicator. What a great company. I am not 100 percent sure that I would want to use the pads when I am at work etc but if I was to stay in all day these would be perfect but I would love to try them to see how I feel then.
I really want to try the shortie period pants. I have pretty heavy periods so I’ve always been anxious to try period pants in case they can’t absorb everything. So the cost of one made it really hard to risk that chance and sample one. I guess for me, pants would be the best as it’s one less thing to apply on, less worry it would move out of place and less padded in that area
