Turtlemeter – Not just for Babies?

When it comes to my body temperature I have always run hot and when I’ve hit that point of ‘to hot’ I’ve not coped well at all – which while annoying wasn’t too much of a problem as I could always take a layer off or move to somewhere a little cooler which would soon put me back on the right path. That was until I become acquainted with Fibromyalgia and my body decided it wasn’t so keen on regulating my temperature as well as it once did and now even the slightest change can send me souring to one of the extremes and once I’ve hit that place having a nightmare trying to heat up or cool down.
So when I was offered a Turtlemeter to review an odd thought crossed my mind – could it, perhaps be something that could help me as one of the times I find really throws me is when I bathe and so I threw caution to the wind and agreed to give this little turtle a run in perhaps one of the oddest reviews of the year so far.
The turtle is activated by water and fully submersible, the display not only shows the temperature but is illuminated in one of three colours – blue for too cold, green for just right or red for two hot making readable at a glance.
I was a little worried that perhaps a baby’s bath would be a little cooler than I would need one myself, but my fears were unnecessary, with it providing a bath at just the right temperature – allowing me to get out after without the hours of waiting to cool down I have previously experienced. In fact it helped make the whole experience a lot more enjoyable and reminiscent of old times thank you Turtle!
In speaking to others as well we also came up with another brilliant idea for using a baby bath monitor those times when you need to bathe an animal!
The Turtlemeter from Ozeri has an RRP of £19.99 but can be brought right now for just £9.99 at Amazon.
Have you ever found that an item meant for once use, just so happens to be perfect for another?

I have never heard of a Turtlemeter before as we just used our elbows
This is very cute and I love how practical it is for the whole family. It’s a great product idea.
the temperature for baby’s bath really is important. good idea.
I wish I could have had one of these when my kids were little, very useful!
That’s such a good toy, it’d make a great present for a new mum. I used to worry a lot about bath temperatures.
Great post and way to think out of the box with the review. I have never seen a thermometer for bath water but those are so cute.
Great idea! I would have never thought to use it that way but it makes perfect sense. Thank you for sharing!
I could definitely use this for myself–I tend to make bath water too hot for me-then too cold-this would tell me when it was safe to enter!! Yes, I have found items meant for one thing but perfect for others as well!
I could use this for my little one, he always says the water is perfect and then I find it is ice cold. I could make sure it is warm when it is being run with this. He and I are different, what is comfortable for me he says is too hot for him.
how adorable my son would love this as he is a turtle nut
I have never seen one of these before, but then again, my younger one is 12. I did it old school…stuck my hand in the water 🙂
Now this is something I could try for Granny’s baths, she never complains but i never am sure if its too hot or too lukewarm.
This turtle is so cute! I will recommend this to my sister as she has a little baby boy and I’m sure this turtlemeter would be perfect for her to use.
This would have been great when my kids were younger. I was always scared the water would be too hot for them.
I need one of this as my girl always complaint about her water being too hot.
How cute is that…a turtlemometer! This would be perfect for my one year old daughter.
We could definitely use one of these in our house! I love that it is digital unlike similar ones! I will have to check them out, thanks!
Not really a both person! It looks cute though. Thanks
So cute! I want a turtlemeter! My girls would love it too! I am checking them out right now!
Oh that is very clever!! I never would have thought to use it for my dog 🙂
great idea, thank you!
I run hot too – and though I love the idea of a hot bath to begin with, I get in and soon become hot and bothered (and not in a good way) and have to get out. Finding my perfect bath temperature would be glorious – so I could wallow in the bubbles for hours and get all wrinkly 😉
This looks really great! I had one of those temperature sensitive rubber duckies, but it didn’t work very well. This actually looks like it would work!
Perfect for everyone in the house, even like you said, the pets. And it’s cute too!
