The Unexpected Accessory That Can Transform Your Look
AD
No wardrobe is complete without a suitable array of accessories. These items are small but attention-grabbing. They provide a dose of personality that can make everything else come together. In other words, they’re the glue that binds your wardrobe together.
Accessories come in many forms. Jewellery, sunglasses and neckties can all serve a similar function, adding splashes of colour and sparkle to an otherwise functional ensemble. But one category of accessory is worth special attention: the hat.
Hats are a means of adding style, framing your face in the right way, and protecting your head from rain, sleet and sunshine. But how do you pick a hat that’s right for you? And how do you wear it in the right way?
From Bland to Bold: How a Hat Can Elevate Your Look

There are plenty of different ways to wear a hat. In some cases, the hat might serve as the centrepiece of your entire outfit. You can draw attention to a hat through contrasting textures and colours. A hat that’s bright red will tend to ‘pop’ against an outfit that’s otherwise dull and muted.
On the other hand, you might rely on your hat to create a finishing touch. It might be the missing piece of a puzzle, whose absence would be felt, even if the hat itself isn’t all that showy and attention-grabbing.
Beyond Function: The Different Styles of Hats and How to Wear Them

Hats, of course, come in hundreds of different styles. Of these, a few stand out as particularly worth considering.
First, there’s the classic baseball cap. It’s perhaps the most popular, versatile, and inexpensive form of headgear, offering protection for your eyes and face, and a dash of effortless cool, too. Then, there’s the simple beanie, which is cozy, comfortable, and versatile enough to match with a variety of outfits and head-shapes, particularly in the winter. Beanie hats are widely available, and effortlessly stylish.
Wide-brimmed hats tend to be preferred during summer, when you need all-around protection from direct sunlight. Then there are bucket hats, bowler hats, berets, boaters, fedoras, trilbies, visors and fezes. The choices are endless, so be sure to experiment fearlessly in search of the hat that’s right for you.
Choosing the Right Hat for You: Shape, Style, and Personal Preference

But exactly how might you know that a hat is right for you? The answer will usually be obvious. You’ll get a feeling that something is working from the moment you put the hat on. Think about the shape and style of the hat, the way it looks and feels, and how it might work with what you’re already wearing. But don’t be afraid to try something that doesn’t seem like it should work – a great hat can often surprise you!
Conclusion
When you’re next getting dressed for a big occasion (or even a small one), make sure that you remember your hat. In many cases, it can be the difference that really takes your outfit to the next level!
