  1. wow, ‘After Everything You Did’ Samantha Sowden. What a brilliant debut novel, set in America but, thankfully written in English. And the twist at the end, well l sort of figured it out just prior to the end. Well recommended.

  2. I won a copy of Stuart MacBrides latest book and liked it so much I bought all his books, so far this year I’ve read 20 of them. Such a good writer.

  3. I really enjoyed reading The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson, it’s such a fantastic thriller, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

  4. My favourite read so far this year is ‘Dead on Dartmoor’ by Stephanie Austin. I live close to the Devon border so it was lovely to read a book linked to places that I know, albeit with a little poetic license. I also enjoy crime novels and thrillers and this was a gentle crime novel.

  5. I’m currently reading “What Lies Beneath: My life as a forensic search and rescue expert” by Peter Faulding. I’ve always been interested in forensics and this book is a fascinating read. I haven’t read many books this year as I’ve been a bit short on time and we’re only in March but this one is definitely my favourite read of the year so far!

  6. That book sounds right up my street! I love gritty crime thrillers and authors like Val McDermid. The most surprising book I have read recently is called The Change by Kirsten Miller – it crosses lots of genres including feminism, crime thriller, supernatural and covers issues many women face and how 3 women all of a certain age facing menopause deal with misogynistic guys! Never read anything like it before, but am sure every single women will relate to the many issues raised.

  7. I’m actually really enjoying Behind Gym Doors, the book I’ve won from you, haha. There were moments I kept laughing out loud and yet there were moments I found myself in tears. I love how he shares all his experiences and stories with such honesty. I wish it could be more popular.

  8. I borrowed the new Jojo Moyes book Someone Else’s Shows from my local library and really enjoyed it, despite a slightly implausible plot.

  9. I have just been re-reading The house on the Strand by Daphne Du Maurier which is a favourite of mine so it has to be my favourite book so far this year… but there’s plenty of time for more reading ahead.
