SureFeed Stay Fresh Pet Bowl: Review
Keeping your pets food as fresh as possible can be a hard task, I mean it is great if they eat it all in one go, but many like to come and go as they please, helping themselves when their bellies fancy a nibble. That means the food is left open to the air as the day goes on, attracting all those annoying flies and as such isn’t as fresh as it was when it was first put out, which can be worrying. If this is a situation you are used to yourself, then the SureFeed pet bowl is perhaps the answer you have been waiting for.
SureFeed pet bowl is a special bowl that opens when your pet is near and closes when they go away, thanks to a clever sensor around the bowls edges (so no need for microchips in collars). If you are worried that your pet won’t know what to do with the bowl, then you will be glad to hear it comes with a training mode that allows your pet to get used to the lid movement at their own pace.
For instance, you can start with it being completely open while they first get used to it, then little by little you add in lid movement, have it just 1/4 shut, then 1/2, before moving onto the full open and shut setting. Isn’t it clever!
The bowl of course uses a motor, so there is some noise from the lid movement, however it isn’t too loud, I was actually personally pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. The bowls are removable for washing and you while it comes with the grey coloured one, you can buy a whole host of extras in different colours.
To work it needs 4 x C batteries which aren’t included. While to the back of the bowl there are a number of switches which, thankfully, includes a battery indicator so you can tell when it is starting to run low as well as buttons to open and close the lid as well as set it into training mode.
So what did Sally think?
Well to be honest she is still getting used to it and I think perhaps it would be better suited to a cat or dog that eats wet food rather than dry. However, with that said it does allow us a bit more peace of mind, when we are going out for the day, that her food will be kept as fresh as possible.
Overall if you are in a household where you do go out often or you are worried about how fresh your pet’s food is staying, then looking into buying a SureFeed Pet Bowl might well be a good idea.

This looks like an interesting product. I also like how it would keep dogs out of cat food and vice versa . My dog will eat cat food in a heart beat this might be a good bowl to try!

I locve this covered bowl container for dogs. Aside from their food staying fresh, bugs can’t get to it also.

I wish this was around when I had my cat Tilly. She never overate and only ate when she hungry so I left her dry food out all day. I will have to get this for my next pet it looks awesome.

I’ve been looking for something to help our pup’s food stay fresh, more so when we go out and come back late in the day. We find that ants have taken over.

what a great invention. Not sure my dog would know what to do. But I suppose eventually he would.
I have 5 SureFeed feeders for my 5 indoor cats. I use them because there are 4 different diets and 2-3 grazers who like to munch all day. 4 cats get kibble only and one gets a kibble-wet combo. These have calmed our twice daily feedings with no more swirling around another cat’s bowl, barging in to eat kibble that is not allowed. Training was easy, even our flightiest boy learned how to use it. These are not recommended for outdoor use–they do have electronics and don’t appear to be weathertight. Highly, highly recommend and the customer service is top notch.
I like how it’s perfect for animals with different feeding tendencies. I need to try them!
This seems like such a good idea! My cat is a picker and I do worry about leaving food out as I have an almighty fear of pests so knowing it’s only going to be ‘open’ when he goes. I was worried as first he would hate the idea of the door opening but the ‘training’ part to get them used to it sounds genius! xx

How cool, wet food was notorious with our cat for leaving it and then it’s unattended for so long and needing to be thrown away because you don’t know what’s gone on it or it’s dried out. I like this idea. x

I really like this for pets as there is nothing worse than food going manky on the floor and hopefully this will keep all the flies as well as well.

We could probably do with this for impromptu overnight stays away rather than bug the neighbours to pop in and check on the cats.
I can see this being of more use with wet food. I know all the comments are positive. To me this just seems like another use/needless product on the market just because it can be.
I think it probably is of more use with wet food, Sal does have it from time to time and the odd bit of topping if her belly is being good so on those occasions it’s a definitely good. x

This is so simple yet incredibly genius. Your pet has fresh food all day and you save money because you aren’t tossing food out as often.
