Simply Earth – Recipe Box Review
I should probably start this post by explaining why I’m reviewing the April box in June.
We had a few issues with shipping, it was held by customs for payment, simple enough to sort, just needed paying. However, for some reason, they didn’t ship it on once paid. So I had to do some tracking down and by the time it finally reached my hands, we had to say goodbye to Sal.
I might do a whole post on how I’m coping with that some time as it isn’t very well, to be honest, but I won’t go into it now.
That said I made commitments to these companies and I’m trying to catch up now with what is owed.
Anyway with that explained onto the review!
Simply Earth.
Simply Earth are a company who specialises in Essential Oils and sell everything from singular oils to blends, jewellery and accessories.
Perhaps one of their best selling items is their monthly recipe box.
Coming in at $39 per month, it includes 4 essential oils, natural ingredients and extras!
Simply Earth – Recipe Box.
Each recipe box includes a selection of recipes to help make a number of different home based items.
My box included recipes to make:
Natural Laundry Detergent
Tea Tree and Lemon Surface Cleaner
Lemon and Nutmeg Dishwashing Detergent
Foaming Handcream
and of course, a recipe to use the oils in a diffuser.
Alongside the four oils; Lemon, Nutmeg, Tea Tree and BO Begone, the box also included; a 4oz Aluminum Spray Bottle and 2oz of Castile Soap and some stickers to use on finished products.
It is worth noting that the recipe box will not include everything you need to make all recipes. However, everything needed is simple to get, either online or at your nearest supermarket.
If you do size up and get the big bonus boxes, you will get some more items to “cook” with, but again everything you will need to buy is clearly marked.
Open and Honest.
One thing I really like about the recipe box from Simply Earth is the fact they are so open and honest about what you’re going to get.

I’ve been having a nose at it as well and this month’s is all about that summer feeling and is great if you would like to try making your own beauty products at home.

OK as I said earlier each box costs $39.
I decided to check out the prices of the oils if bought individually and they came in at:
Lemon: $7.99
Nutmeg: $11.99
Tea Tree: $9.99
BO Begone: $11.99
= $41.96.
Which is already above the initial outlay and then, of course, you need to add in the extras and the fact these boxes contain ready to make recipes.
Overall I think you are looking at a box with value, something which as long as your going to use the recipes is something that you can bring out and make over and over, which will probably over time save you money on buying premade and of course, your doing a little something for the environment.

Sounds really good. i’ve been looking into getting a diffuser as I’m thinking certain oils may help with my anxiety, I also struggle with my sleep and there are things I could try for that too

I’ve never tried essential oils mostly because it’s too expensive. I think you’ve found a pretty good deal here with Simply Earth. It’s a great idea to selling the recipes with the essential oils.
That is most definitely one of the downsides of essential oils isn’t it? They can be so expensive but these are quite good value to be honest.

I used to be into essential oils when I was younger. This seems an interesting box for those who want to try different things and its great they have recipes so you can try different things out.

This is such a great idea! I’ve never consider it before but I do like essential oils. A friend gave me water with lemon essential oil as a pain reliever and it really helped me. It relaxed my body and made me feel better. I’m going to give it a try!

This sounds like a great way to get more familiar with essential oils. Sometimes it can be intimidating to sort through all the recipes and info posts online about them.
It really can be – I have to admit before this I was so out of my depth now I have a starting point.
I love essential oils. I have been making my own soaps, cleaners and detergents for a few years and it has been wonderful. I no longer have to worry about the chemicals in the products.

It sort of does, I’m really BAD at describing fragrances I have no idea why LOL.
After doing a review several years ago, I returned to purchase their products. I really love the quality of their oils. They smell like essential oils should. Clean and undiluted. This is a box that I would enjoy receiving each month.
They do don’t they. They definitely have something really special about them compared to some others I have tried.
I haven’t tried oils yet, but I’ve heard good things. This kit might be a good way to get started!

Making a healthy and great laundry cleanser is so smart. I have never been into essential oils but these flavors do look interesting and the box with recipes a great buy.
