Securikey MiniVault in Silver from Simply Safes
I have to admit in the past I’ve not really thought about keeping precious or important items safe in the home. I would often just throw papers into a box file and keep jewellery in a draw.
However, when we moved into the bungalow and a had a lovely big cupboard on offer, I decided it was time to invest. I think both Ash and I were surprised by how quickly we filled up our mini safe with items of personal value. So when Simply Safes got in touch to see if we would like to review a safe from them I, of course, said yes.
Securikey MiniVault in Silver
The Securikey MiniValut is one of Simply Safes best selling small safe range. It is part of their Silver £4,000 cash rated range. It is supplied with 2 high-security keys (additional can be purchased if needed).
It also comes with a battery operated LED light which is magnetically attachable to the ceiling of the safe and is motion activated staying on for around 30 seconds.
The inside is lined to make sure if you are using this for valuables they are protected as best as possible.
If you are wondering about how it is made, the safe has been constructed from a 4mm steel body and an 8mm door. In size it is 374mm x 250mm x 274mm (external) and 354mm x 240mm x 210mm (internal) with an extra 27mm to be added to the external size to include the handle. It weighs 22kg.
When it comes to securing this safe. It comes with the bolts needed and has two ready drilled holes in the base. Although the information suggests it is possible to secure it through the back as well.
What did we Think of the Securikey MiniVault in Silver
I think it is easy to say both Ash and I were impressed with the safe. Personally, it was bigger than I expected for a mini vault (yes I didn’t read the sizing fully first). However, I think it actually is a great size.
The sizing is going to allow for a mix of items kept inside. From important documents to jewellery or other special items, to even cash.
When it comes to the lining, it seems thick and well made, definitely a lining I would look to trust to keep my jewellery scratch free. The light is a great little addition as well, as it allows you to easily see into all corners of the safe. Nothing is going to get lost in a dark corner.
Personally, I feel as though this safe has been well planned and is something I can see fitting into many homes and office settings, as an everyday use safe.
If you fancy buying yourself one of the Securikey MiniVaults they come in at £155.99, which I think is a very reasonable price to keep your personal possessions safe in such well-made housing.
If this safe doesn’t quite meet your needs then Simply Safe is well worth looking around as they have a whole host of sizings and shapes when it comes to their collection.

This is such a great idea! I had a smaller one before from Walmart but not as durable. They are definitely perfect and if there’s an emergency you can just grab this and leave everything else behind. Perfect place to leave the absolute most important items in

My grandparents have always had a safe at their house, but I’ve never thought of putting one in my place – it would make sense though. And I know I’d fill it up so quickly! x

I think having a mini safe is a great idea, and this is great example for a reasonable price. We all have things that mean a lot to us, and keeping them safe is so important. We really never know if there will ever be a chance of someone breaking in, but with something like this it does give you peace of mind.
Most definitely I think we never know if we are going to be targeted so it is better to be ready and prepared 🙂
We have a safe, just not as large as this one – It looks reasonably priced and quite chunky too.
It really is a good solid safe, I feel comfortable putting things in it.
I think a safe is a necessity. We just got one that bolts to the floor and I love it.

I am guilty of keeping valued items just like you did. jewelries are kept in the draw and papers in a folder. It would be nice if we have one of these too. I won’t worry about leaving the house anytime.

Funny, I’ve never considered a safe in my home. We do have a fire proof file cabinet for important papers but we do have a few other items that are valuable to us.

We too do not keep valuables at home. But indeed the Securikey Mini vault looks really strong and useful, ideal for homes and to store documents and other valuables.
It really is a great little safe, well worth having in my opinion.
That is the perfect little safe for sticking in a closet or somewhere else where you’re short on space. I have a larger safe in my closet that I won years ago, but I’d really love something a bit easier to grab and take with me in the event of an emergency. That big safe isn’t going anywhere, lol.
It is that sort of size, it’s quite heavy but definitely pickable as long as you aren’t me as I couldn’t lol.

I have been thinking about a safe, esp if I move, but also because where I am now could be a fire hazard in a condo complex. I have just read theft of a safe, it wasn’t bolted to the floor, so it would be important to do that, even if you think they’d never get it open, some good crooks might figure something out.

I never really think about getting a safe for my own home. Always seems like something you just get if you’re on holiday in the hotel room but it really makes you think about what you tend to just leave around the house at home that probably be put in a safe!
