Premier Housewares Green Leaf: Review

I have long loved matching sets, I remember when I was child making sure everything matched in my bedroom from the bedding to the curtains and any cushions and as I’ve grown up, although I also love a complete mix in some area, there are certain areas such as kitchen wear I do love to make a matching set.

A while ago I was sent some of the items from the new Green Leaves range from Premier Housewares, this range takes the simple design of two slightly different coloured leaves and turns it into an effective looking decoration. The set includes a whole host of items from mugs to place-mats and oven gloves to tea towels. I was kindly sent 3 of the items for the green range.

Green Leaves Porcelain Dinner Service

The dinner service comes in a choice of two sizes 32 or 16; I personally received the 16 piece set which includes 4 dinner plates, 4 side plates, 4 bowls and 4 mugs, as there is only Ash and I in the household this is definitely enough for us.

My one niggle with these items was the transfers on some of the mugs really wasn’t very neat and you could see areas where it hadn’t stuck and rubbed off in glazing or has turned into a bubble, it only seemed to be an issue on the mugs though, so not sure if perhaps I just got a dodgy batch or seconds were perhaps sent out for reviewing (I’ll just make sure not to give those ones to guest).**

Otherwise the set really was well made, the porcelain they are made of feels sturdy and not as though it will break in your hands, while the mugs fit nicely into you’re hand when your holding them.

Most telling of all I haven’t managed to break any of it yet, so that means it definitely passes the clumsy Sarah test.

The 16 piece dinner set costs £29.99 while the 36 piece costs £49.99.

Premier Housewares Leaf Coasters

To complement the dinner set comes this set of four coasters, which would look just perfect sat on the dining table (if you are lucky enough to have one) while you use the rest of the set to dine with.

These four coasters are corked backed, with a wipe clean PVC top and as long as you look after them I think they should last quite a while. There is also matching place mats available as well, so you really can go all out with the green leaves theme when it comes to your dinner table.

The 4 piece coaster set costs £3.49.

Leaf Lap Tray

If you ever use a lap tray then I can really suggest using one that is padded such as this, they fit so much more comfortably on your lap and as the beans wiggle around it makes for a much sturdier surface, which evenly distributes the weight.

The top of this is once again PVC, so can be wiped clean – so no need to worry about small spills, if you get a bit messy slurping your spaghetti!

The lap tray costs £15.

The leaf collection is available in both green and orange and I have to say over all I am pleased with the range – I do think it is a shame about the mugs, but I totally admit if I can do without one part of a dinner set it is always the mugs, as I am sucker for all the cute mugs out there and have a cupboard and a bit full, so they never match.

**I just wanted to post an update on the mugs. Premier Housewares kindly sent me some replacements and they were in perfect condition – I definitely cannot fault their customer services, which goes a long way with me.
