Popular Spa Treatments To Relax Your Body And Mind
AD
Retreating to a refuge designed for relaxation, whether for an hour or a weekend, is an unbeatable physical and mental detox. Silent areas and heated rooms let you switch off and sweat it out, gorgeous grounds invite time outside and you can indulge in specialist treatments to relax your body and mind.
Whether you’re going with family, your partner or alone, make an occasion of it: use your coffee rewards for a hot drink and a treat before you hit the spa, and end with a delicious dinner at a special restaurant. You deserve to pamper yourself for the full indulgent experience and appreciate the sense of serenity for as long as possible.
Here are the must-try treatments on the menu at most spas: choose your favourite, or better yet create a combination.
Massage Therapies

There are over 80 different massage therapies practised worldwide, but whichever style you choose the rhythmic motion and pressure will relieve tension in your muscles and reduce anxiety.
The slow-paced Swedish style focuses on long strokes and kneading and is a favourite for relaxation, especially when essential oils are included to lower cortisol levels. The latest trend is to use CBD-infused oils to take this effect to the next level. Hot stone massages penetrate heat deep into the muscles for targeted pain relief and an intense feeling of rejuvenation.
Facial Treatments

Lying still and silent enjoying the scent of soothing products sinking into your skin: few things make you unwind faster than a facial, and they leave skin silky smooth for days.
There are many types of facial treatments to choose from. Traditional treatments range from masks to more concentrated chemical peels. LED facials are the current trend: this non-invasive procedure uses light wavelengths to address multiple skincare challenges simultaneously such as inflammation and damage. Hydrafacials which gently cleanse and intensely hydrate the skin are also popular.
Body Wraps and Scrubs

Replicate the benefits of a facial on your body with a scrub treatment. Exfoliating products like sugar and nut grounds buff away dead skin cells and are followed with nourishing solutions that leave skin plump and moisturised. This is a great way to rid yourself of built-up toxins. You can top up with at-home body scrubs to sustain the salon sensation.
A body wrap is more indulgent. Your therapist will cocoon you in a concoction designed to cleanse, firm and hydrate your skin and top this with thermal blankets. While you’re lying still, warm and cosy, the natural solutions will do their work – with lasting results. Those with sensitive skin should opt for gentle seaweed while mud and clay are best for drawing out dirt from deep within the skin.

I would absolutely love a back, neck and head massage, I feel so tense all the time. A facial would be amazing too but this is something I would need to save for.
It’s crazy isn’t it how tense you can feel at times, I have people telling me to relax at appointments, and it like how do I do that?!
I can understand that have you tried a spa where it’s all different hot and cold rooms? They are my favourite.
I love the hot stone massage, it is soooooo relaxing.
I have to admit there’s something about heat that can be so soothing.
Love a good spa treatment especially a back massage
I am with you there, I need a spa day ASAP!
I like a nit of pampering but don’t like to take too much time up
I think there is definitely treatments that are quick for those who don’t like to spend all day!
I’m not a huge fan of massages but I do like the idea of a body wrap
There’s some massages I definitely couldn’t get behind – I do love a facial though.
