Pooch and Mutt – Digestion and Wind: a Sally review
In the middle of last year Sally got to try some Pooch and Mutt treats and they soon started coming top of the list when it came to her wanting a snack or two.
Not long after she found their treats, Pooch and Mutt brought out a range of food for adult dogs. The Pooch and Mutt Health and Digestion food range followed the same lines as the treats and staying with the tradition she had started, Sally decided she did indeed need to try their Digestion and Wind food.
Previously I spoke about the fact dogs don’t need grains. They are in fact normally used to ‘bulk’ up cheap foods and cannot really be digested properly by them. So it is good to know that Pooch and Mutt’s complete food is completely free of grains using sweet potatoes instead. This food also contains delicious and healthy ingredients like Scottish salmon, parsley, probiotics, prebiotics, charcoal and psyllium to help your dog’s digestion. This food promotes firm stools and helps to reduce problems with wind.
I have to warn you these do have a bit of a smell to them, but by golly they got Sal’s nose twitching from the moment I opened the packet.
In fact she really seemed to take to these straight away. They obviously matched smell with taste when it comes to Sal’s doggy likes and I was pleased to find that she could easily digest them and we had no adverse reactions, even when I accidentally gave her a full meal of them, instead of just a few mixed in with her normal prescription diet.
One of the things I like most about Pooch and Mutt is that they really look to provide the best treats and food for your dog. They don’t bulk up the food with cheap ingredients, they use genuinely good quality ingredients and aim each product at a certain doggy issue from helping them keep moving to helping them be calm and relaxed.
Pooch and Mutt’s range of food costs from £13.99 and can be viewed in full on their website.
If you have a dog, do you think they might like this food?

I was kindly sent some pooch & mutt treats and my dogs love them, even my fussy dog who always turns her nose up at treats loves them. It’s so important to feed your pets decent food and this brand is great for just that! Great post, really enjoyed it x
If it belps with wind, Bess is definitely getting some!
Our dog is a very fussy eater. We were convinced she wanted to be a non-meat-eater because she wouldn’t eat most dog food when she was a pup. She’s now 13 but still has a very “delicate” stomach and it is easy upset. Also she doesn’t like the same dog food regularly, so it’s fun and games finding her something different every so often. Fortunately (if you like) if she’s not had the food for a few weeks she will eat it, but won’t eat the same all the time.
oo I read something today about giving sweet potato to cats, I must go and find it again. My dog will eat anything – except his own food!
brilliant review
It’s nice to know pets have treats like this too. I don’t have a dog so I don’t know much about their digestive issues and this sounds like a great brand.
I am sure that my moms dog Sammy would love these. She got him gingerbread shaped doggy treats for Christmas so I am sure she would be open to finding a new food for her dog baby.
My hubby has talked about getting a dog when we move into a house. If that happens I will want them to have treats that are good for them like the Pooch and Mutt brand.
I’m so glad that they have products like these for pets. They deserve some relief from discomfort too.
I’ve never heard of this brand before… Hope it works out for you and your dog!
This dog food sounds wonderful! I’m lucky that our dog hasn’t had any digestive issues up to this point.
Love that Pooch and Mutt’s food is completely free of grains using sweet potatoes because my dog love sweet potatoes.
Like that it’s not got the grains. Anything that’s good for them is good! But they will eat anything!
I’ve never heard of this brand of dog food before. My sister has a dog. I’ll have to let her know about it. Thanks for sharing.
This sounds like a great food to feed to dogs with digestions issues – like my moms dog! The pooch can clear a room in a matter of seconds with her awful gas. *gags*
Well that’s an interesting name! Glad Sally enjoyed it 🙂
Sounds like excellent kibble. My 9 year old boxer has had a sensitive stomach for as long as I can remember. We don’t switch her food because of it. I often wonder if better foods exist that she can eat.
I wish my Penny would eat dry food but she refuses!
Never heard of this brand before. My dog could use this.
I will let my work colleague know about this.
Our dogs are generally ok (unless they’ve had chicken) but it’s good to know this is out there.
Right now we don’t have any pets but I made a promise that when it warms up we could get a dog. I will have to remember these because I’m sure whatever it is will be spoiled rotten by my husband.
This is new to me, this brand Pooch and Mutt is one I have yet to hear of; seems pretty good!
I think my dog might like this food. I am trying to clear up some issues my dog is currently having with her food, so I will try this one.
grains aren’t good for cats either. It gives them stinky farts too! I don’t have dogs now but we’re planning on getting one once we move. I can’t wait!
I have never heard of this before, but if I know my little doggy well then she’d love to have a bite!
I have not heard of this brand of dog food before. I have two little fur babies that would love this food.
I do not have any dogs, this sounds like a great product – a healthy option too!
That is such cute packaging, and I love the name! My dog would have gobbled this up, for sure.
My dog might like this food. If it is good for digestion, I’m all for that!
Good job finding something that makes Sal happy and healthy. I do remember you sharing about no need fro grains in dog diet’s.
I need to check these out for my small dog. He has some digestion issues, especially with foods that use fillers.
aw bless I’m glad he liked it and I hope it works xox
My 3 dogs are such pigs. I bet they would just love this, if it smells like food they’d eat it! Pig Pig pigs!
not sure if he would eat them but would definitely like him to try some out
My dog would literally eat anything I put in front of him LOL. I am sure he’d love this.
This looks really great! I had a dog with terrible digestion issues. He never had diarrhea or anything messy, but his gas could peel paint off of the walls!
I am sure Belinda and Bolt would love this but then again they will eat just about anything lol.I like that there is sweet potato as this is one thing I like to give my dogs.
I’m never sure with trying Murphy on new foods because he is so small and lots of regular sized dog food/kibble won’t even fit in his mouth! I’m going to investigate and see if they have a special range for small dogs!
